This reminds me of when me and my cousins did a stranger things marathon. All 3 of us piled on my tiny bed and watched every season (at the time it was only season 1-3) and had the time of our lives. This was the show that my partner and I used to watch together when we were still kids, after work at his place or mine watching stranger things to escape the present and everything that lives in it. Now we’ve grown apart, and for the best because I’ve grown up now but I guess he is still a kid at heart. I made a lot of mistakes in my relationship, but it really is just a learning experience. This song just hits different. I know im late on this comment but I remember back in 2018 waiting for season 3 and rewatching the two seasons before and vibing out to this song. Even after season 4 came out with some hits such as “Running up That Hill” I still in my opinion think this one is the best song in the whole show. Whenever I go and rewatch the seasons and hear this song its so nostalgic. Also after watching season 4 I feel that although some major characters are still in hawkins it just doesn’t give the original feel of the old hawkins that the other season do. I’m not a stranger things fan, but when I heard this music I immediately felt nostalgic. It reminded me of how simple the world used to be, back when people wouldn’t whine over everything and the only thing you had to worry about was figuring out your place in life. While we still do that, getting somewhere in life seems so much harder these days… Why can’t the world just slow down for a while?

Season 1 will always be fucking special to me thanks to this song. It’s easy to forget what happened in a series when you haven’t watched it in a long time, but I remember the first time I heard this song while the kids were riding on their bikes, insane nostalgia for a time I wasn’t in alive in.
