As much as I hate government interference, I also hate micro transactions even more. Shit should be outlawed or restricted on any game that isn't rated M. That predatory practice has no place in a game that kids could be playing, at least not without easy access. On the other hand, parents, teach your kids about money. You don't even have to teach them much, just say that every micro transaction they spend is 1 small carton of ice cream they can't have because they spent that money on something else. And god dam it, NEVER give ANYONE free access to your financial info. Especially kids.

I did this once on an app I have forgotten the name of, except unlike these stories it was not my fault, (a little backstory) I was about 7 or 8 and had been playing this app on my Ipod touch but it had started to take weeks just to level up once or twice to get new stuff so I decided to ask my mum if I could buy a $10 in-game currency pack to help me level up (Diamonds or gold I think) so I went and bought this and everything seemed fine, I go to bed without doing anything else because it was late. Fast forward to the next morning, I wake up and go on my Ipod and find I had about 200k of this in game currency, yes, TWO-HUNDRED THOUSAND when I only bought...I think a 1k pack or something? which means the app for some fucking reason had charged my mum 200 TIMES so either in my tired state I hit something wrong or the game just fucked up. It cost my parents about $2000. I have learned from that to ALWAYS check how much of something I am about to buy online. It all ended up okay in the end, the money got refunded minus $100 and I for some reason got to keep the in-game currency.
