Trains at Shrewsbury, WML - 5/4/19

Welcome to the latest episode of Big Trip! Today I am at Shrewsbury on the Welsh Marches Line where services are seen by Transport for Wales, West Midlands Trains in the brand of West Midlands Railway and Virgin Trains.
Shrewsbury was a very scenic station to film with the semaphore signals being in place all around the station. The station has a lot of backdrop scenery with the castle and the junction as well. The variety was better than I expected with a lot of TfW's stock arriving and with the 170s and a 221 here as well, it proved to be more varied than first anticipated. I certainly enjoyed filming here even if there were a few gaps but again they didn't last long and things were coming and going a lot. This is a station I'd definitely recommend.

great video. cool catch off 221101 and nice tones from her cool catch off heart of wales 153367 4 a day on mon to sat but when ex greater angile 170s comes in to TfW they said they will pull a new service i think i have seen o the internet. nice catch off 158839 i seen 830 thats in new TfW. nice coupleing up off the 170s. poor 150227 lol doing holyhead to measteg no wonder why its late because it cant keep up with the 175 timetable lol

It was 37 minutes late, and it's in the new livery. Wait a second. I think I saw your train at Wellington while I was heading home from school! And it was also my first time seeing the new livery 221101

Pretty much all of the 170s are in orange now, TfW are slowly getting their 158s in the new livery.

Shrewsbury is a fantastic station I go there all the time I use Shrewsbury lots to change trains when I go to Cardiff or Manchester

@@KTVTransport It is a great line to travel. I've used it from Barmouth to Pwllheli during a holiday. Also the scenery on or off Barmouth Bridge is incredible

Ive also done barmouth bridge both by train and on foot. Its awesome. If ya ever go to barmouth, do it, you wont regret
