For sure. I do like the 9-string ESP that Steph Carpenter used on Deftones' 'The Spell of Mathematics', though. That is probably best studio-recorded 9-string I've heard to date.

@Undercoverbus yeah, I tune my 7 string 25.5 to F# and it holds up, but I got this idea to make a C#tuning on a 7 string. if indeed 29 inch was available on 7 and 8 then it could open up alot of possibilities

@@zynosgd9982 theres not a huge market for 9s lol you got like Schecter making 125 a year and Ibanez made a few awhile back. Agile tried it, but they don’t anymore. Kiesel has the luxury of making them in house to order so they don’t take as big of a hit as production models that never sell.

I remember when Kiesel was still Cavin. This was when thy started making seven string guitars. People were wondering when they would make a seven string bass. A lot of people said would be a long shot. Enter the Zeus Seven string bass. I played a few seven string basses before. The high "F" gives it an extended range. Makes it easier to play some higher notes (and shuts down the guitar players that won't play with the format of the song). Wonder how the lower string will sustain interest. I've really come around on what I thought of Josh Travis's playing and style. In a world where everybody wants to be Humanity's Last Breath (not a bad thing per se) and uses pitch shifting constantly, Josh accomplishes the tonal qualities of that in just one guitar.

The clarity on the low end is insane. There's a good reason Meshuggah has used 30" scale guitars for years, and Josh tunes much lower. I'm too small of a human being to handle most straight-scale 8 strings, so my 9 string interest will remain purely academic lol

My man... They make 30 inch scale 6 string guitars. Basically Bass VI. I suggest either the Grestch 29.75 scale baritone, the Schecter Hellraiser C-VI. Grestch one is really low end-y, muddy, but fucking slaps. The Schecter is more ready to play I feel and you don't need to EQ around that much.

If this is anything to go off of. Every 9 string I’ve played, it’s either 28 scale length OR 30. The 28 scale make usually cause fret buzz, while the 30 makes the high strings a little too tight. I need this.
