Kiki, Kennedy, and Kayleigh replace three Ives to play along with Juju is a huge improvement. Kiki brings tier one athleticism and scoring skills in the PF position. Kennedy played on/off ball at will in HS and is a two way player who can guard 1-5. Kayleigh is very quick, can attack the rim, has good shooting ability, and is a fantastic passer. Avery brings depth since she can play on/off ball offense and play good defense.

I would rather she went to UConn (for selfish reasons). But honestly, this is a great fit as well. Going to USC instead of SC means that she will be a KEY piece of a puzzle vying for a championship. Instead of going to a team that has enough to win another chip as is. She will have a much better opportunity to showcase her talents with USC. Good for her! Big Fan!

This is an uneducated opinion.. so South Carolina does this and it’s fine? They lost all their seniors and many freshman and sophomore’s on the bench. And none of them transferred out. They got 2 needs. A 4 and a 1 to help develop on the freshman. Kennedy will start. And I’m sure all the freshman were brought into the discussion when making this decision. All the freshman coming in know that this team is being built on time players…and just want to win

To give those who aren't that familiar with Oregon State's roster an idea of how deep the Beaver's were before losing so many players to the portal; After Beers an Gardiner, Lily Hansford, Dominika Paurova and Donovyn Hunter ALL had a better field goal AND 3 point shooting percentage than von Oelhoffen. That's why I think von Oelhoffen is getting more credit than she deserves.

Wow: you really like to stir the pot, huh? The fact is: adding Kiki and TVO makes *any* team better- what coach wouldn’t welcome either or both? Plus: I’d think these highly-ranked freshman would welcome the opportunity two *play with* and *learn from* better, more experienced teammates- just as Kiki and TVO would embrace the chance to play with Juju Watkins!

Is it strange that I think JuJu will still be dropping 30 or more for multiple games? Like I legit think she’s going to come back better and stronger than last season. Not every rookie is going to adjust as quickly as JuJu did bc she’s a generational talent, so I think the freshman are mostly going to be coming off the bench and learning from the upperclassmen. JuJu is still going to be the center of this team, and they are going to learn to play around her and grow as a team. She’s just too much of a dominant player and I’m not going to underestimate her.

Nope the difference is Morrow and HVL came onto a team full of players they only watched play. Kiki is from the same city as half of USC's team is from. Talia is also a West Coast kid. Both studied USC in season as they were in the same conference and had to go up against. This in fact not an LSU or a Pao Pao situation at all. These kids know each other and the 7 freshmen(not 6) all came to help Juju and create a legacy at USC will replicate the legendary past

The additions of Kiki Iriafen and Talia Oelhoffen would be huge gets for USC. In fact Kiki has posted her commitment to USC. However, I do agree with you that the incoming Freshman class could prove be an unnecessary complication. But I have a lot of faith in head coach, Lindsay Gottlieb. It will be difficult or not easy but I can see her pulling it off successfully too though. Well, we shall see.

I disagree with you wholeheartedly if you can’t handle the team that goes 10 or 11 deep then you’re not much of a coach. I’m sure she is fine. She seems to be a pretty good coach. But let’s face it as Geno Auriemma once said you don’t win with bad players. They’re fortunate they have all these players. USC will be good and probably make final four but all of this talk about these teams, I hear no mention of Notre Dame With Miles coming back and Hildalgo they’ll have one of the best guards in the country picking up king from Marquette gives them one of the best shooters in thecountry. They also picked up a big in the portal. I am not a huge Notre Dame fan. Better put them in the mix with a healthy UConn USC South Carolina UCLA and a couple others I know I’m forgetting to mention.

Super teams don't bode well in the tourney, ask LSU. Trojan freshman class has 7 recruits (i think) plus returnees and now Kiki. This is going to be ugly just like LSU was mulitple players without PT and mass transfer exodus at seasons end, count on it.

ESPN has been giving Juju a tongue bath, calling her NCAAW's best returning player. Kiki is better and it isn't even close; jump shot, jab step and finishes with either hand. Good gosh, she roasted ISU's Crooks. Talia's 3 point shooting needs to improve and coach is going to have to deal with some egos. And Gardiner to UCLA? Woohoo!

As a UCLA fan, Kiki to Southern Cal really hurts. She's a great player, but as I've said before, Talia von Oelhoffen is inconsistent. I won't care if von Oelhoffen goes to Southern Cal. Von Oelhoffen had the best game of her life against the Bruins, but really, Oregon State had Timea Gardiner, Raegan Beers and a great supporting cast that propelled them to most of their victories: Von Oelhoffen, not so much.

LSU lose because the coach doesn’t assign their best guard to Caitlin Clark. SC has the correct matchup. Dawn Staley uses Raven Johnson instead of Te-Hina to guard Caitlin Clark. I think LSU and SC are the two most talented teams in the 2024 NCAA. But Kim Mulkey gets distracted by the media too much.
@AnthonyTomassi-y6j
@AnthonyTomassi-y6j 4 ай бұрын
She played just fine it’s not like she was limping all over the place on the leg. Didn’t seem to bother her in the post very much. I agree with the guy who says LSU put the wrong player on Clark. Matter of fact Mulkey screwed up big time trying to make HVL point. Pao probably handles that better than HVL. Keep HVL at the point where she averaged 18 pts a game for Louisville in a pretty tough ACC conference. Pretty funny all these LSU fans that were saying UConn was just making excuses because they had at times 7 players not playing due to injury. One or 2 players go down with LSU and they would have won if they were available. Got news for you LSU got outplayed by Iowa plain and simple period!!! Mulkey got out coached period. Iowa did this with possibly there best guard besides Clark hurt and on the bench. Something to be said about the revenge factor. That and Clark was out of her mind hot in the game.
@feliciamoore9786
@feliciamoore9786 4 ай бұрын
@@nathanhu3937Agreed. However, Flaujae was averaging 20+ points in the tournament, so I think Coach Mulkey needed her more for offense than defense. I believe she didn’t want Flaujae to tire out. Case in point, Raven Johnson did ok, but check the stats. She only scored 3 points the entire game. Luckily for South Carolina, they have enough arsenal to score points, that Raven was not really needed for her offense, whereas LSU, not so much. Like I’ve said before, last year, in the championship game, Alexis Morris kept Caitlin Clark to 30 points, same as Raven. Both prevented the massive points CC would have acquired by keeping CC to 30 points, compared to LSU & her scoring 41 points in the elite 8. Also, Alexis Morris scored 21 points. So, last year, LSU needed those points from Alexis, whereas SC didn’t need the points from Raven Johnson. Defense on Caitlin was their main objective obviously.❤

Watch the game and watch her post moves not much of a difference before or after the injury. She was moving pretty damn good. I get it your a fanatic. I didn’t care who won the game Iowa or LSU didn’t care either way. Watch her foot work underneath there was barely a difference looked to me like the ankle had warmed up and did not have a chance to stiffen up much at all she was moving around underneath pretty well. Makes no difference they lose anyways. Mulkey can take the full blame for the loss. Should of had a quicker more mobile player on Clark. Stupid non move by the coach.
