There is group thinking in group dynamics. A country whose foundation was built on creating better opportunities for some (shareholders) over the others (non-shareholders) compels those who feel marginalized to group together against the threats and mistreatment from those at an advantage. The signs are very subtle. In Kenya the default position is to communicate in mother tongue unless the person you are communicating with proves that he cannot understand you. In Tanzania even people from the same ethnicity are frowned upon by others when they communicate in their language in public. Subtle fault lines which hinder the country's development into a nation. Mistrust follows. Us vs them. Tensions build up and it just needs a small trigger to push things over the cliff. Togetherness and sense of unity is not screamed over and over. It has to be lived.
