Like Charles Hunger says, thanks for the demo! I already knew in theory how to operate Kilduff lightning rod shifter (3 stick manual drag race shifting for 4-speed automatic transmission), but now I know how it's mechanically done. I guess that they have spent lots of time to get so simple design. :-)

Heavy duty..you can really bang it into gear!

The biggest thing is he figured out its better to pull upshift than push like Hurst does. In any car thats semi fast, its kinda hard to lean foward and shift

So... How does it work? Ir is basically moving the plate, which tells computer when to switch gears or there is some mechanical linkage to the actual transmission? I really don't know :D
@RustyCanadien7 жыл бұрын
Not computer controlled, it's all by cable
@thomaslong64167 жыл бұрын
These lightning rods use the standard B&M cable that is behind most all aftermarket shifters real simple set up

So when you are about to race, you can just go from d to 1?
@thomaslong64167 жыл бұрын
Yes throw it down into 1st then when ready pull back into 2nd then into 3rd without accedently going from 1st to 3rd, overshifting . Most cars will stay in 1st until you shift that can blow something up learn your shifting pattern

What length are the shifters in the video?

Plus, you got a deal on the price, they are over $400 now.

Lol my buddie just spent like 700 on his shifter and its just a basic ratchet shifter with trans brake for a th400. 400 dont seem half bad for this
@ramiropinon17727 жыл бұрын
can it be installed onto any automatic car? even a honda?
@thomaslong64167 жыл бұрын
Ramiro Pinon This particular model is for a gm thm 400 3 speed, will not work on a 4 speed. like most if not all shifters they are transmision specific, you should visit his website to see if he makes shifters for imports, www. Kildufmachine.com
