In 1970-71 I was in the Ranger Band. We had 100 kids and sounded really full and really good. We were the biggest and by far the best band in the conference. Appearances in the Cotton Bowl parade and game. Invitations to perform in the senior bowl in Mobile, Alabama, Performance at the Farm Bureau Convention in Houston, Christmas Parades in Kilgore as well as several Parades in the surrounding communities many performances of the Stage Band all over East Texas and a final Spring Concert with a packed house at Dodson Auditorium. Lack of interest, very poor recruiting and poor retention.

It’s sad to see what the band has come to now. I believe when Mr. Wells passed away was what ultimately led to what we see now. I hate it because besides the Fightin Texas Aggie Band, there wasn’t another military style college band except KC. That’s why I went to KC in the first place

Who is the second announcer, this guy does not like Tyler Webb. Webb is an amazing talent! Webb is a stud and the announcer needs call the game not share his bias on air.

What in the literal hell has happened to the Kilgore College band? That's all they can field?

I was in the band from 17-19 right before it is what it is now. When Mr. Wells passed, that’s when the downfall began for the Ranger Band. I think Covid also had a big role in it too.
