Besides the fact that you started in last position and the extreme road, what is really amazing is that you are at full speed in the sacred valley of my country where air is so thin and is hardly to breath (near 3000 meters above ocean level) a feat not easy even for us locals, you really have a lot of stamina and hard training. No compass or map HUD and obviously too easy, the player didn't use one life. and at several points the player was able to go through rocks without slowing down. Do they have a kick mode... I'm only going to play this one if i can kick other riders off... Game within a game... not only 1st but ONLY finisher...

He was fast AF starting from the back. Starting from the front, he absolutely murdered that trail and left the zip code on everyone. 2nd place was far enough back that Dude had time for a beer after giving his bike to those kids. It seemed like almost 5 minutes. Even he started looking for the next guy after he chilled with the kids. That's serious training right there. You gotta be on the bike a lot to have that kind of stamina. He hardly coasted. He was mashing those pedals on everything, including the downhills. Total freak.

It's pretty clear he has what we call more wind and legs than most of the other competitors. He's breathing hard, but he pushes through and overtakes huge amounts of people at the places he can just out pedal them. Great training and effort.

In summer, Colorado ski resorts turn into Downhill Mountain Bike resorts (lifts and all). As an amateur, I used to go in the early 2000s and experience a lot of friendliness and general goodwill among the riders I encountered. I don't know if it's just the vibe that comes with people that do the sport, but it was always an awesome experience riding with strangers - everyone was pretty supportive and celebrated each other's riding. Seems to be the general case in all of the videos I have seen to date.

From the helmet cam it looks pretty smooth and easy, you have to watch the other riders to see how technical it is, Kilian's pace is absolutely insane, and the reaction of some of the riders he passes is hilarious.

@@Skeptic2006 not really, i think he just takes it VERY serious, is extremly fit and memorized the route to a point, that at parts it felt like he had a navigator like in car rally racing. keep in mind these are not professional races, so the few guys taking a super-serious approach will stand out by quite a bit. frankly our dude here is a beast :)

I don't know for sure, but I don't think many sports videos have much in the way of stabilisation (as long as camera is head mounted) as you naturally hold your head still and move your body around it, I'm no expert but you'd probably be surprised how still you hold your head (if you didn't you also wouldn't be able to see). Speaking from a horse rider/go pro perspective.

Speed control, feeling and knowledge of the track are simply mesmerizing. I thought to watch a minute, a maximum of two, but I watched the whole video to the end. In the first part of the video, it is very cool to watch the attacks during overtaking. Special thanks for showing the camera how you pedal, because in some places (especially on the asphalt when you speed up) it seems that you are on a motorcycle, not a bicycle. For me, some moments in the video are simply unreal. it would be great one more camera from the side ... Thank you for a nice video.

@@R__K There is electric mountain bikes, I see older guys using them on the trails near me. They say you can still get a good workout in on them in low mode and if you really want to go fast you can turn up the power. It's not like a dirt bike where you push a throttle and go. There's a motor that helps make turning the pedals easier. A common one I see is the specialized turbo levo, but anyways these are normal bikes not e bikes.

This was epic. It started frantic and was almost meditative at the bottom. The changes in scenery and weather were amazing. This was a great example of pedaling power and precision. @@David-ud9ju i got that vibe at first, but its just obvious hes faster than them, and this isnt nascar where they try to block you from overcoming them. as you said its a race, regardless of his position, to win a race, you need to pass people, and when the motor is your own body, and someones faster than you, you let them by, because purposely blocking someone, just because you are slower than them, but you dont want to loose your spot, is also a dick move. in a race its not dictated by your starting position, although that does help alot. passing happens in races, its not a dick move to let people know you are behind them, and are able go to faster than they can.

My Father in law became 61 this year and he does all kinds of stuff. Wall climbing with his with, running and mountainbiking with his brother. If you body lets you, do what you like in a pace you can keep up 💙❤️💛

I was amazed that some riders we’re using their brakes in the paved sections; not a good tactic in a race like this. Pavement is a surface to accelerate on, pass other riders and maintain speed for the dirt sections where it’s more difficult to pass

truly one of the best mountain bikers around, the pace, endurance, agility and precision is just next level and no one can compete, especially from starting all the way at the back even like 50 meters away from the last person, he still manages to overtake everyone and with skill too makes it look so easy that anyone could do it but theres so much experience in this guy that to even be able to match him would take years and years off had work to just even get close to his level of skill

Starting so far back was a really smart strategy, it allowed him to pass the rear pack in one fell swoop along the barrier ribbon because he already had a fair bit of speed, relatively speaking.

Well.. sometimes he needs to overpass on weird angles but i reckon if the race trail wasn't mixed with that paved road (where he could by-passed the most of people) i didn't think otherwise he could make-it down with same results.. I watch him at Megavalanche where they started on top of a mountain racing down on a wide snow & ice ski slope there he also could by-pass most but there it takes the most of risk and some big balls because of much higher speeds and on smallest mistake the fall is longer by sliding on the ski-slope and would be hard to re-gain the lost positions until the end of the race since latter the trail-track gets very steep & narrow ..

There are sections when he chases down riders way in front of him, and I kept thinking to myself, surely he has over taken everyone now, there is no way there is anyone else in front of him, but he hunts them down, and overtakes them, again and again. The guys further into the race had such a lead on him but he closes the gap. The scenery is amazing. He is in a league of his own.

Whilst the "motor doping" made me chuckle and grin, his superior asphalt road overtakes come down to BIG GEARS from my standpoint....and of course the power to push 'em (training, fitness, natural ability, preparation...). He's got the proper gearing for those ASPHALT straights: I bet his outer chainring (the BIG RING) is bigger (more teeth) than most of his competitors.

I was just glued to the monitor, thought how the first run starting in the back of the pack was inspiring. Then I got to see him starting on the front line...my eyes got started to open wider and wider as I was taken down the path with nothing but full speed all the way. Total gentleman? He was dangerously and unnecessarily aggresive numerous times when passing other riders. Very little consideration to the others. Fast as hell though.

@@allencraig02 ever played a motorsport game and have the bots turned down on difficulty? That's basically what's happening here. If anything he's probably frustrated because they're so goddamn slow

I’ve never seen anything quite like this before 😮 I started this and saw the runtime and thought “yeah, ok” 😅 and then sat and watched the whole thing on the edge of my seat, both runs equally as impressive, simply amazing!! thank you 👍

When there's not a bunch of slower, less skilled, riders blocking his path he shaved off so much time on his run. Crazy how good this guy is.
