I love it how Tarantino knows how to make a villain (or well a character in general really) so likeable regardless of the motifs they are holding, challenging the audience to decide whether or not they eventually get what they deserve. And in the end, it's not really as much about the justice brought, but rather about the tragedy and the conflict itself. You just sort of watch the movie, discover what are the intentions of every character and suddenly you realize you'd probably do the same thing if you were in their skin. Because they do the _right_ thing to do. Bill had a perfect reason to have Beatrix dead; and so did Beatrix have a perfect reason to deliver her vengeance. What a masterpiece of cinema.

DeepSea King That is the interesting thing about Quentin; you regard him as a creator of satirically negative characters, I personally don't find any of his antagonists comedic or even inherently evil. Even Hans Landa, Mr. Blonde, Negro slave drivers in Django, all of these characters are there for a purpose.

Who would have the *genius* to think of mixing this amazing track that's inspired by old American Western music, with a beautiful anime sequence from Japan? Quentin Tarantino would. What an awesome score! Especially after seeing the film, this piece of music gives me an even more intense feeling of...I don't know what! It's just good music! My hat certainly goes off to Luis Bacalov for this awe-inspiring piece of music.

AGREED! There are a few others I could add to that list; Guy Ritchie's movie *"Snatch"* has an amazing soundtrack that just nails the atmosphere and the theme of the movie. The original version of *"The Wicker Man"* (not the absolutely horrible Nicholas Cage remake) is one of the best of all the horror & suspense movies of the `70s (IMO), and the *amazing* soundtrack helped re-popularize folk in England according to some. *"The Graduate"* is another classic (and a best-selling soundtrack too), *"Trainspotting"*, and more recently, both *"Kill Bill"* movies...all great soundtracks!!
@bveracka

atrixospithikos I realized I wasn't clear on that; I was saying that Tarantino had the good taste to use the song/composition in the film. Good history lesson though--I didn't know! Leave it to the Europeans to make the best scores, for certain!

I read somewhere that the reason dor adding an anime part was that Hollywood has some protocols regarding showing the amount of blood. So basically they could not show blood more than that otherwise their movie would have been rated like M or something. That's why they dipected this violent and full of blood scene in anime.

"Fortunately for O-Ren, Boss Matsumoto was a pedophile...." Easily one of the best parts in this movie is watching that O-Ren succeed and Boss Matsumoto die. I wish they could make some movies of some of the characters, like their background story. I mean we already know a little bit of O-ren's past but like what happened to the dude in the white suit? What was her life like before that incident? Why were they after her family? Also it'd be cool to see how Elle's past life was, and Vernita's, Budd's, Bill's, hell even some of the non deadly viper squad members. Like Gogo, Pai Mei, Karen Kim, Sofie etc.

Jean Panachay That's wild you say that, because after I showed these movies to my younger bro he later tells me that the guy who killed O-Ren's father is Bill. I told him I didn't see it lmao but if that turned out to be him...

anappyboi11 they both have similar rings, I think that was the reason the had a shot on the hands after the stab. Apparently there's an extra bit to the animation that will be included in next years release of Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair

Jean Panachay Wouldn't make sense because O-Ren works for Bill later in the first volume.. Wouldn't she remember him? I mean the guy in the white suit killed her father.

Quentin Tarantino has a great taste for Western movies, in Kill Bill 1 and 2, there are songs of movies like: The Grand Duel (this song) El mercenario Da uomo a uomo And in other films of him also there are several sounds of films of Western.

Now I realize musical taste are highly subjective however... I question the Man who finds this song anything less than inspiring. This speaks to my Soul at so deep a level as to warrant the cessation of my attempt to explain for fear that I could never convey the fullness of my meaning with mere words alone.

Let's be clear. "The Grand Duel" (Parte Prima), is written and composed by Maestro Luis Bacalov, originally part of the movie "The Grand Duel" starring Lee Van Cleef. Luis Bacalov's music was used for many of Tarantino's movies, like "Django Unchained" s opening theme, yet created by Luis Bacalov for Sergio Corbucci's Western movie ~ Django ~ (1966), with the voice of Rocky Roberts.

Spaghetti western to all the young people, means it was filmed in Italy, because America looked to green at the time, you can actually visit some movie sets in Italy and Spain as a tourist attraction and get involved with a duel.

Wrong. Spaghetti western were filmed in Spain mostly, directed by italians and with american actors. It was filmed in Spain because it was cheaper not because america was green, also the proximity with Italy

What Mr Pink said. The movies were made by and for European audiences who also loved American Westerns. The style of Sergio Leone's Spaghetti Westerns also aimed for a more gritty and human approach to the Western genre rather than an idealistic romanticized version usually propagated in most John Ford Westerns.
