Bought this yesterday and yes it is hard. Really hard. But its also very fun to play and has that 'one more run' addictiveness. If anyones on the fence about getting it. For the price I'd say give it a go. It plays like a much more frantic Hades, the action is relentless but fair. You die because you caused it to happen. There's a lot to keep your eye on and it takes some getting used to to get to grips with it. The tutorial section - which is an absolute must to learn the mechanics - because as soon as the game begins, that's it, you're in, no warming up or taking it easy on you - just straight into full on action - so you've got to learn the wealth or mechanics and controls at your disposal from the outset. It's a lot tonget your head around - main weapon, sub weapon, melee, parry system, active reload, charged shots, dashing, slowing time etc it can be daunting at such a high speed of gameplay. It took me a return visit to the tutorial section and a few failed runs to get to grips with how to gain extra HP for example. And you've got to be focused, you can literally be killing it and then a momentary lapse of concentration and its game over. But I don't find myself getting frustrated at the game. Instead I die, cool, one more run... My only gripe is that the currency system is slow to accumulate, so getting enough experience between runs to gain new unlocks is a slower process than I'd expect it to be. But seriously - a fun game. Very pick up and play.

I just managed to beat the game last night on the Acolyte difficulty. Then it unlocked a harder difficulty that meant I got my arse handed to me all over again. Love this game and the "one more run" addiction it becomes.

I actually played this at PAX over the weekend and though it took a few attempts, I beat the stage they were demoing. Talking to the devs at the booth, I found out it was available on Switch, so I had to see what you guys thought of the performance. All good news here, so I'm off to buy it now, cheers lads!

Sounds like a game that would greatly benefit from a system like the Rog Ally X's 120fps capable screen. Same with playing the PC version. My guess is that the home console versions have a 120fps mode as well.

You really REALLY have to grind for those points to upgrade your equipment. I'm not happy about that. Whether you play for the 10% bonus or the 20% bonus. It doesn't seem very worth it at all.

If the game gets too brutal it goes to my cloud and i find a more enjoyable game......just saying i love Fury unleashed for example, because it's just challenging enough, and still not brutal enough for me to permanently rage quit the game. Looking at you, Wife Quest. Wife Quest is overwhelmingly brutal on the second level/world and I did permanently rage quit that one and i exiled it to the cloud of many games never to be redownloaded again.......
