One thing people should understand: marching on a football field is totally different than marching in a parade. It takes more energy to play in a parade while wearing a band uniform, in the sun. I admire and respect the energy and intensity of the entire band. That appears to have been a long parade. The crowd keeps you motivated!

Exactly. Halftime show you do get to stop for a minute and the show may last 7 to 10 minutes. But in a parade, you're constantly marching and you have to play at every few minutes. That parade could last an hour or so depending on how long the route is.

@@Midwest_Jess007 and where did you read that? I say that because in not only hbcu band community, but in the black community as a whole, people are giving this talented young man a lot of crap for being white in a predominantly black band with a traditional hbcu style. That's the school where he lives just like any other kid, white or black. He joined the band just like any other kid and excelled to its highest rank. Now we all know why he's getting so much attention, even he knows it, and his peers and teachers know it, but there are still people out there treating him like he did something wrong by being the one that was selected to be out front. You should see some of the comments that I have seen waaaay back months ago when the story first broke and was just circling around a alumni marching band pages. Just full of unnecessary hate. So again my point, is he's a child going to his local high school and being in the band. There's a few of those comments on here, but thank God not a lot. Those are the people I'm talking to.

Those camps hate black women and put non black women on a pedestal. Procreating with them and using Numbers 1 verse 18 to justify it. Reread Numbers 1 verse 18 and you know it does not say anything about the seed of your father. Our people are screwed up to see that it's ok to see a white guy leading an entire black band in a southern state as a good thing. Show me where a black person leads an all white anything. Once we as a people realize that we're True Royalty. That we are GOD's chosen people, then we're going to continue to see things like this white boy leading a whole entire black band. What's crazy is our people don't see anything wrong with it. The black students should be angry.

Jesus didn't go to the cross for only a chosen people. But for anyone who believes and trust's him. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.” John 3:16-21 NKJV

@@specialty_k I Absolutely agree on Justin being included in this moment is Historical, and I think he was Great! I enjoyed his Addition. Yet Black pple have ALWAYS been Loving, Inclusive, Considerate, and the majority of the time don't receive reciprocity. Facts!. We should be VERY careful about Our "inclusivity process" because the result is normally "other's" acting as if they Appreciate Us & Our Culture, instead they're just studying Us down to a "t", taking what they've learned back to their counterparts, and eventually removing Our Faces/Names, rebranding it with theirs much like what an informant does. It's happened historically, it will Never stop, because it's Pathological! Once Black pple Understand that, then maybe we could progress Internally as One Commnity, such as other Communities/ethnicities Faithfully practice! Rmmbr Our Ancestors created spaces for themselves, because they weren't "welcomed/allowed" into theirs. Then what happened?. Those same folks wanted to come INVADE those spaces as well. It has alot to do with Power, and there's nothing wrong with Us having Our OWN spaces without "including" other's. Other cultures demand it, We should as well! Look this young man is good and it's not easy being a drum major let alone a blue eyed soul brother at that, music has no color, he was put in that place because he worked for it, and no matter where he goes I'm a fan of his, just like Nate he got his start at Jackson state this year all the way from Edna Karr and he had to put in work for that spot! Have you ever wonder why sometimes they only have 4 drum Majors instead of 5? Because somebody didn't make the cut! It's enough shit going on in the world! It's not a color issue are we still stuck in that time did anybody ask anybody to kiss anybody's ass? Damn let the boy live in his dream! it's his time to shine, either celebrate him or turn the channel! @Thankyou3403 Like I guessed it, some will find your comment "racist" when you're speaking truth & common sense. Yes, Justin is talented, I give him that but so are the other drum majors & the band itself. Every comment is about, "who came for Justin" , "who fed him negro food", & the lists goes on. The moment our Black people mention his color about good he is to lead an predominantly black band & how he stands out, it becomes about race. The moment you speak on how it for other reasons, it becomes racism. Blacks people will NEVER be more than what we are because we to accepting to any & EVERYTHING. They can shine the spotlight on anybody but their own. Three other Drum Majors pulling weight but all EVERYONE see is the white boy leading🤦🏾 He's will lead an HBCU because we will put him there & praise him along the way.🤷🏾 Black folks will place a white to lead, then get they take over.
