That was an interesting week. 1st we had to deal with Hurricane Gustav which tore Baton Rouge up, had to rush to try and gather band members with spotty cell service and have 1 brief practice due to the BR curfew, and then finally get the trip together so we could leave and make it to Nashville. I think that is what made the battle that much more memorable for me.

Love my HBCU's. TSU was too small of a band to go up against a large power house like Southern. For a small band TSU you sound pretty good and the dancers were pretty good. Southern is large and a great band. The Dancing Dolls is still one of the best dance teams in HBCU. Both did a good job. HBCU for life!!!

This recording don't give the sound justice. I was there. I was outside of the gym and I could hear southern clear as day playing the boss marching in and it sounded a lot better and louder than what was on this clip. But this was 2008
