Nelson 10 I don’t think lemony is even real. I mean, unless the story of the Baudelaire orphans is true, because we all know at the end Beatrice said 'Hello mr snicker I’m you’re niece Beatrice Baudelaire the second' meaning that Snicket was related to Baudelaire. Also Jacques Snicket was in there, and the Snicket file from the library of records. So unless lemony tied up his family with a made up story about unfortunate children, or it’s all real, Lemony Snicket does not exist.

No happy endings, just sorrow and woes, for the Baudelaires who just wanted to live in peace with a guardian. They can't catch a break, and every "good" adult either failed to help them or died trying. The bad ones trying to steal their fortunes mostly got away with it. They were abandoned by justice, by a secret organisation they knew nothing about. Man, that hits you deep in the feels. I'm not crying, you're crying!

I absolutely love that part from 1:07, where it's just Olaf singing. He didn't get his happy ending either. His story was also "all sorrows and woes". Now that we know it, we can hear how sad he was while singing about two parents, "both brave and both true". He was remembering his own father. Olaf is a villain. A murderer. He's evil. And I think he got what he deserved in the end, and he knew it himself, that's why he refused to eat the apple at first. He deserved to be punished for his crimes. But he also deserved to be remembered. That's why that scene with his grave hit me so much. Edit: also, when it says "you might dream that justice and peace wins the day" and focuses in the photo of the librarian(I'm sorry, I don't remember her name) is one of the strongest scenes in the whole song. Like... You would think that such a good person would survive. But that's not how this story goes

WHY DID YOU HAVE TO DO THIS TO ME
@guillermogarciaperez764 жыл бұрын
As Lemony Snicket said that he stopped his research in the Hotel Denoument, I always had the theory that maybe the last book was just fiction actually written by Lemony Snicket to give a happy ending to the Baudelaires. Being realistic and taking the books as canon, probably the orphans and Olaf died in the sea. The island would be then an imaginary place conceived by Snicket as a heaven where the Baudelaires could finally get rid of Count Olaf and rest peacefully. Despite all the trouble with Ish, the island is the only place where Olaf couldn't trick people with a disguise. I know this theory is really depressing, but it's realistic and goes with the vibes of misery and desperation from the books.
@johncage4172 жыл бұрын
I actually like your theory better than the ending... don't get me wrong, it's nice seeing it had a "happy" ending but speaking realistically this was what truly happened. I don't remember well in the books if count Olaf also gets rid of the canned food, throw Sunny to the see and the Baudeliere orphans tried killing him or if it was added by the series but if you took that into context it'd make sense that it was just a "representation" of how they'd already ran out of food and were both parties desperate. I agree with you.
@quackity33432 жыл бұрын
Although that's a good theory, if what happened on the island never actually happened, then in the last scene, he never would have met Beatrice(kits child) as there honestly would have been no other way she survived form the submarine and safely delivered her child. Also her kids name is Beatrice Baudelaire which never would have come about had she not been raised by the Baudelaires. But honestly I wish your theory was true amd I like it better than the actual ending.

This is one of the best stories i've ever read because it's so different. The cartoony dialogue, fourth wall breaking, the era-less setting, the narrating, the oblivious nature of the characters, the music, the scenes, the symbolism, all of it. I don't think there's any show like it. I love how it's so different from the typical series. The villain gets a backstory, but he gets no redemption, no justification for his actions, he died, and that's it. People died who typically wouldn't. Good people, bad people, little to no bias. I loved every second of watching it. NPH did an amazing job portraying the character, Violet, Klaus, even Sunny were played perfectly. There are no noble or decent people, and this series made me believe that. I will be referencing many lines and quotes from this series for the rest of my life. It was a pleasure volunteers, the world is quiet here.
