We would finally be seeing the sunshine on the first weekend in February. I had plans to go winter camping at Killbear in my big homemade hot tent with Vicky. Last year, we winter camped at Limberlost in Vicky's Snowtrekker and I was excited to show her my big homemade hot tent, and camp in it. We had some amazing food, like nachos under the wood stove, we got to walk on the beach, both on snow and sand, we got to see some spectacular ice formations, stunning rocks and boulders, and most importantly, we enjoyed 2 days of glorious sunshine. We visited with some friends, old and new, and had a blast in this gorgeous park. Come check it out with Vicky and I, and see how beautiful Killbear is, in the winter. Well.. it says winter on the calendar. LOL

I believe the marks on the rocks are glacial movement. I hike an area here called “The Blue Hills”, and it’s covered with those same marks. The Ranger told me that they are from the retreating glacier. Thanks for sharing your experience, it looked like fun. Be well my friend.

Hi Vicky Hi Christina what gorgeous sunny weather Love that tree root character wasn't that cool it looked like a Wendigo. Killbear is a beautiful park & I am with you on the rock formation always have loved them. That rock that Vicky commented on I believe is called "Gneiss rock it is formed when the temperature was hot and there was a lot of pressure. I believe Vicky is correct. It is an interesting area. Those Nacho's made me hungry Ohh yum!.

If it looks like this during the winter, it's gotta be a stunner in the summer. Is this one of the places you go kayaking too? I've been looking at a kayak adventure this summer up at the Apostle Islands through Whitecap (They are at Canoecopia every year). Just something other than Boundary Waters/Quetico. Would like to try Georgian Bay someday. The way this warm weather is going, you'll be out in your canoe before long. I'm already thinking about sorting out my pack (backpacking) for some midwestern adventures these next couple months here in Iowa. -Dave-O-

I have only been to killbear once in the summer. It’s very beautiful but extremely busy. I don’t actually kayak very much anymore. Most of my paddling trips are via canoe but you can find some paddling adventures via kayak in my kayak playlist on my KZbin channel. Georgian bay is a great place to kayak and a try to get out there at least once a year. Thanks for checking out the video and taking the time to comment. Cheers!
