When the Chief of Police said "We know what the homeowner husband told us happened, but we have a lot to do to substantiate that claim" that he already knew the husband was guilty.
@CocoWantsACracker12 күн бұрын
Any law enforcement officer who KNOWS someone is guilty pretty much before the investigation has started and who did not see the crime in progress in person or on CCTV footage is useless at their job and should resign immediately. He probably had a very strong suspicion, but let's face it: in most cases the murderer is the partner or an ex-partner of the victim, so those suspicions don't mean much either. Besides, the man hasn't been convicted yet, so even at this point saying you KNOW is technically slander.
@sipppin11 күн бұрын
Yup- this was a few minutes drive from my family and when I heard more about the case, especially later on when they gave more information regarding finding the husband and au pair, I knew instantly that this was some sort of weird love triangle. @@johannas.l.brushane2518 Well that one's easy, one of the others left the door unlocked and messaged him to "let himself in," maybe told him to meet her in the bedroom even. @@johannas.l.brushane2518I thought the same. I suspect that the issue would have been getting the blood of his wife onto the clothing of the man they were framing for her murder. She'll be given credit for time served since Mike said she was arrested September 2023 and the husband's trial date is set for March 2025 she'll have that time credited as served. I don't know for sure Virginia's sentencing guidelines for manslaughter (most states have an average low end term of as little as 7 years). Unfortunately, (using 7 years as an example) 7 yrs would in a lot of times break down to 4-5yrs served then remainder on probation. It's just a fact of life, women get more lenient sentences for the same crimes, on average. I think it would be a good idea to start using sophisticated AI programs instead of laughably biased and fallible judges and juries, at least someday, when the technology is advanced enough. There is an extreme lookism bias in courtrooms, too. Conventionally attractive people, and conventionally attractive women especially, are relatively unlikely to face real justice for their crimes, compared to plain people or particularly compared to ugly men. @@jennyng2994I think the forensic analysis can take some time also, putting together bloodsplatters and signs of how people have moved about the bodies and around. I think they figured rather immediately that the au-pair's demeanor was redundant, excessive panting and distancing at the same time, i.e. full of sh*t.

Are the people in the story born with wealth? A nurse and an IRS agent don't typically have fancy salaries (if the motive could have a financial aspect less visible).
@titanomachy221712 күн бұрын
My belief about these rich people that hire sexy au pairs to live with them is that it is basically a sexual arrangement more often than it isn't. I mean, how naive would you have to be to think a busty Brazilian woman could come live in your house and that your husband wouldn't have sex with her, now in the 2020s in the West? I figure the wife was fine with them having sex and probably had threesomes with them but just didn't expect her husband to catch feelings for the au pair, and obviously she wouldn't expect to be murdered. I just have trouble believing these rich people that go out of their way to bring younger women under their roofs actually are totally blindsided when the husbands sleep with these women. I think that's just part of the deal, to spice up the marriage. I mean, do you really need your maid to live with you? Does she really need to be a busty Brazilian woman? And the couple had fetlife accounts it sounds like, so it all lines up. I think the older generations just don't know how common swinging has become now and assume it was all behind the wife's back, but nah, she definitely knew, you'd have to be totally blind not to know. I think she just didn't know how far it went.

The fake gasping for air when talking always tells on them. They always overdo that. LOLOL When one lacks empathy, emotional distress is so hard to fake. OMG, if somebody made a compilation of these fakers, that would be such a fun to watch. :D
@gingerweasel212 күн бұрын
Yup. There is such a thing as panicking/hyperventilating, but when you're out of danger and actively trying to tell a story, you'll be (overall) trying to calm yourself and breathe slower. Sometimes you might have to ask for a break to collect yourself, but you'll generally be more collected after you take a minute, not at a steady "same level of panic no matter what" level for hours after.
@Julienna12 күн бұрын
@@gingerweasel2 exactly this. It was already explained by a professional crime investigator, that the hyperventilation, when natural, tends to go away within a few mins naturally. (The body does that to prevent fainting and other unpleasant side effects.) And the person usually tries to calm down first and then speak or take breaks to relax and then speak. But if the hyperventilation and gasping for air keeps occurring for a long time, or it comes on and off, it is rather faked. Also, when the voice becomes very high-pitched and the person keeps gasping for air after each and every syllable... Just like her. We see that she forgot gasping for air a few times when answering questions to the cop, then reminded herself and went back to the fake gasping. LOL. I felt second hand embarrassment for her. She made herself look suspicious with this behavior.

@johannas.l.brushane251812 күн бұрын
@jaybee4118 There's not one way to react but surely it's no more than perhaps a few handful but oddly enough those who fake it does it in a very similar way and are typically recognised as fakers quite immediately for people are not as unique as we often wish to believe, we are more alike than not. For instance they are waving their arms and not shaking as a neurological reaction of severe stress etc. Or do seriously believe that reactions that are to a significantly determined by the automatic nervous system aside of experience and upbringing is so highly individualistic that "everyone is different" so there would be like 334.9 million different reactions to shock? If that belief is widespread is no wonder that the level of chronich disease is so high in a modern country like USA. An experienced interrogator standing close enough can even spot the pulse rate in your jugular (unless you're very obese) to recognise if you're more stressed by them questioning you.
