Phase 1 0:00-1:55 - The entire first half is slow and brooding, with sinister undertones. Troy's voice sounds like Thor floating over a sea of slow, tribal drumming. Slow, but so powerful. If you start to lose attention.....just hang in there. I promise, the storm is coming. Phase 2 1:56-2:51 The beast has awakened.........the storm has arrived. Max and Greg trade snarls. Consistent, classic, relentless metal. You will be head banging. But the storm has only just begun.... Phase 3 2:52-3:34 - OH> MY> GOD>!!!! This is where the songs morphs into legendary status. The beast has been unleashed! The storm unleashes it's fury. A crescendo into a furious, fiery assault to the senses. Words can't describe how badass it is! "I would never run first, look at what a coward you are! What a coward you are!" And finally...... PHASE 4 3:35-3:51 - The beast has reached it's final form. The drummer turns into an octopus. The storm is out of control. No regard for human life. 16 seconds of insanity to finish this tidal wave of a song. It ends abruptly, leaving you speechless. Strap in people. This song is a fucking ride! If you like heavy music, I implore you to check this out. I can't imagine anyone that likes metal not enjoying this. It's just so good.

I absolutely love this band. It doesn't sound anything like their previous/other bands. They have made something completely unique. The three voices really compliment one another and the song writing is just on another level to anything else out there right now. Reluctant Hero is a masterpiece.

When I first started the song, I was like "Beautiful new direction for KBK. Soft, and atmospheric. With undertones of......... and then it reaches down your gob and pulls the label from your underpants." Never change Killer Be Killed. Easily the greatest supergroup in metal. When all other bands are progressing into spacier more prog structures (which I'm more than ok with), KBK gives us a safe place to enjoy old school, rip your face off, METAL. We salute you. \m/ Beyond all that, what a fucking year for music, eh? Between new Deftones, IDLES, Code Orange, Mastodon (B-Sides), Puscifer, and now Killer Be Killed? I'm having a hard time calling a best new album this year, and it's not even over yet. Quite a few bands releasing new material in late November, mid December. 2020 is going to be remembered for some killer new music.
