One thing that would greatly improve this film (or at least add to how entertaining it is) would be if the super-gory "Director's Cut" was finally made available. The first time I saw this movie I was (and still am) a huge metalhead and my favorite song at the time was Hell's Bells so this having an all-AC/DC soundtrack sold me and when Hell's Bells started playing I was so psyched!

Back in 86 3 months before the machines took over I gave someone the green goblin truck and also before I was a truck driver I drove a bulldozer back in the 80’s Edit: when I was driving a bulldozer it turned on me because the machines took over I survived by staying in an abandoned grocery store

I snuck out of bed and watched this with my mom and dad fron behind the couch when I was like five or something. My dad saw me when the credits were playing, asked me how long I was there, and apparently I watched the whole second half of it and they just rewound it for me to see the first half. The only part that scared me was the lawnmower for some reason. Either way this is still one of my top favorite movies, even if it's kinda sucky.

I suppose that's one way of looking at it, movies are always open to interpretation. I prefer the idea that the machines are being controlled by some bored aliens as hinted at by the movie, it kind of adds to the overall goofiness. I liked the book better because the cause of the vehicular revolution is never revealed and the narrator believes that the machines are simply sick of being human kind's bitch.
