So like maximum overdrive the Helicopter 🚁 was the good guy vehicle in the film Like the newly weddeds car didn’t turn against them it the was only “ moral good” souled vehicle in maximum overdrive. I wonder if the different machines had differing opinions on the humans and each other? Maybe the helicopter didn’t view humans as bad and saw the trucks as brutes and uncivilized? You give human traits to vehicles then you gotta question if they can have differing views on one another.

I love this movie, but I hate that those two old GM pick-ups (the 1947 GMC New Design and the '59 Chevrolet Apache/Task Force) got destroyed. The '47 GMC looked fixable but the '59 Chevy was totalled.

When i wstchrd this movie I would pretend like the trucks had voices and make jokes when they started talking to eachother. And i say what ever in controlling these trucks is racist to cars. And I say this should get modern remake. Especially with cars and trucks getting more advanced by the day we could reslly do something with this concept and really make it work.

The vehicle itself being the menace rather than showing a guy or discount alien inside. All that counts is no driver is implied. 'The Car' had it acting almost animalistic. For some reason, scenes like Barricade trying to intimidate Sam before transforming in Transformers(2007) are most intimidating because it's just the car doing that and maybe because cars aren't supposed to be able to do that so it's also confusing and maybe another thing I can't put my finger on.

3:57 I know this scene seems goofy, but i had one of those tonka dump trucks as a kid back in the '90's, and those things weren't made with cheap easy to break plastic back then, those little things were metal, im pretty sure made from decently thick steel, I remember the one i had took a fair bit if effort to pick up and lug around when i wasn't pushing it around on its wheels, only plastic i remember on it was the little window in the cab, frame of the truck, the wheels, and the little exhaust pipe that was made of rubber, they were SOLID. I wasnt the type of kid to do dumb shit with toys i loved but if I'd wanted to launch that thing as fast as I could at someone's shins, it would have hit pretty hard and probably left a good size gash or two. old school tonka toys were nothing to scoff at.

If this is real then I would be taking a jog in the woods, avoiding the trucks (semi, pickups, duellies, etc) and trying to be quiet as possible, holding a gun that has enough firepower to shoot through metal and destroy any truck engine.
