VharGames riight. so if you drink venom you'll be fine if you inject poison in your blood, you'll be fine -_-
@Vhargon
@Vhargon 10 жыл бұрын
LORDbananaboat Drinking venom is perfectly fine, as long as you have no cuts/ulcers/etc from the lips to the stomach. Those are all paths into the bloodstream. Injecting poison, however, is different. The poison's 'objective' is to reach your bodily systems through absorption (aka via your digestive system). Depending on how the chemistry of the poison is altered by this process, then it may or may not be already deadly via a simple injection. It never hurts to at least Google something before trying to make me look like a fool.

Their toxin is also highly valuable for medical research, since there toxins are highly specific in Seeking out it's targeted area. A pain killer has been developed that is 1000 times stronger than morphine. Some of these snails have paralytics others target respiratory system.

The reason for its extreme venom is that it has to kill instantly. BTW, the snail has multiple harpoons and can fire them in quick succession to further deal with prey, and has a second toxic compound that keeps the fish from swimming out of range as it closes in.

Omg I saw like 30 of those when I was at the beach here near the Mediterranean Sea. They don't come out of their shell a lot there.
@GraemePryce1978
@GraemePryce1978 8 жыл бұрын
I don't think they come out of their shell very much anywhere. Normal land snails have to be out quite a lot because they eat food that doesn't have very much nutrition so they have to sped a log time eating a lot of it. Cone snails get one big dose of highly nutritious food in one prey attack so they don't need to risk their soft bodies by being out for very long. My pet Giant African Land Snail very rarely goes all the way into its shell at all now that it's almost fully grown. It might also be because it has learned that there are no predators that are trying to eat it though.

I picked one up once. But I had been taught how to. I would not recommend others do it. A few seconds after I put it back down, it knew something was wrong. A little fish came swimming by, and I saw the tobuscus get ready and the harpoon came out and WHAM! Struck it like lightning. That gave me the willies, that could have been my finger. Have it on HD video along with thousands of hours of HD footage of me being an idiot around other dangerous animals also. Like the time I tried to kiss a sea snake or the time I decided to wrestle an octopus.

i agree partly, I like to content but dislike the narrator, he is such a sensationalist trying to make it all sound like shark week on the history channel.... I prefer attentborough style where its about facts and not trying to portray everything as a deadly killer. Nature is also about eating and hunting, every carnivore does it. this snail is not so deadly compare to everyone else. Would have been more enjoyable if he had not tried to sell it as a 'tank' but rather exotic interesting animal
