I love the whole backstory with Aaron Cash and Croc. His hook hand gives Captain Hook vibes. The riddle about elevating fear was that little room inside the vent you found the first time you went to the elevator room.

When I used to play the game I used to always take time during stealth...hasting through it kills the fun of being Batman. Batman does stuff like this without ever getting detected let alone shot. I used to try out all the tactics: inverted takedown, silent takedown, glide kick...instill fear into the heart of the criminals you know.

Waylon Jones AKA Killer Croc was born in Tampa, Florida with an extreme form of the medical condition Epidermolytic hyperkeratosis, which caused his appearance to develop progressively into that of a crocodile, hence his name. Waylon was put under the guardianship of his incredibly abusive and alcoholic aunt after his mother died giving birth to him and his father had abandoned him. Her persistent alcoholism prevented him from growing up in a suitable environment. As a teenager, Waylon had no friends, and was the object of ridicule of those who knew him. Brutally abused in his home and relentlessly bullied at school, Waylon accepted his place in society as always being seen as a monster. One day as Waylon is being troubled by some children, he is met by a kind young girl named Emma. Emma begin Waylon's only friend and he even told her about his plan to run away from home one day. Days later one of the boys who had humiliated Waylon had gone missing. Emma began to question him about this boy's location so the begun to search the swamp for him. They soon discovered the body of the boy and discovered that he had been violently murdered. As Emma approaches his body, she is suddenly attacked by a crocodile. In an instant, she is drunk into the swamp and Waylon jumps to save her. Waylon takes action to stop this crocodile and violently kills the beast. Unfortunately, his attempt to save her was too late and Emma had been killed. As he began to flee, he was confronted by the local police. The officers had heard about his attempt to run away and arrested him for murder. Waylon then spent some time in a juvenile reform school for a murder he didn't commit. He was once again humiliated for his appearance and his pain began to turn malice. Over this time he's content for humanity had grown and so had his body, new dating too grotesque proportions and becoming incredibly reptilian in appearance. Years later, Waylon had joined a traveling carnival. He quickly became the main attraction as the beasts who wrestled crocodiles, he was known as Killer Croc. While Waylon found a sense of belonging in the carnival, she was still treated like an animal. As he spent some time in the carnival his boss began to frequently disrespect him. One time the owner came over and gave Waylon his cut, 40 dollars. Waylon asked what happened to the 100 that they agreed on and the owner told him that it doesn't matter what they agreed on, Waylon isn't getting any other job so he should take what he can get and enjoy it. Waylon had become sick of being treated like this so he quickly respond by biting his hand clean off. He was done being treated like an animal and decided to turn to a life of crime to make a living. Croc's ambitions and travels eventually led him to Gotham, when he began to forward the criminal empire to make a new home. He began to commit mostly robberies and was frequently used to intimidate other criminals. By this time, his appearance ghad completely transformed and he looked more reptile than human. His primal instincts were sharpened, and he had become much more deadly. His physiology created new primal needs for living so he found a home in the sewers of Gotham. In the sewers some of the homeless people who lived there began to serve him even fight for him on occasion. Croc would grow to care about them and look after them. As his crimes continued he was eventually stopped by Batman. Batman show a different side to this criminal and understand the pain under his beastly appearance. Waylon was then sentenced to serve out his time in Arkham Asylum. In Arkham he had to be specially fed and contained and was frequently taunted by the guards. Batman has always known that Croc wasn't evil and always felt empathy towards him. Batman has he been searched to find different ways to kill his unique disease. Waylon's horrifying disease continues to take a toll on him as he is constantly transforming. As the days go by he becomes more animal than human, which has made his life incredibly painful. To survive he mostly eats rodents although he has been known to occasionally eat humans. Killer Croc tends to live a life of crime as a means for survival rather than a personal motive. These days Killer Croc continues his life of crime to survive and tries to find solace in the sewers of Gotham City.

That last Scarecrow segment brings up one of my favorite aspects of Batman's character, where we realize Bruce is probably just as psychologically damaged as the criminals he fights, but because he's generally a good dude he's not treated the same way the inmates are. I'm not implying Bruce is in anyway comparable to literal terrorists and murderers, he's clearly a hero. But mentally he's too far gone in the same way his rogues' gallery is. I think we can admit that becoming a masked vigilante and dedicating your life to fighting crime is not the typical response to witnessing the murder of your parents.

Just imagine if a future Batman movie that deals with Scarecrow as the main villain pulled this trick. You're sitting in the cinema, you're near the end where Batman is facing off against the Scarecrow, and then all of a sudden, the movie freezes and bring your back to the very beginning. The audience is confused and pissed off until they realize, oops! Scarecrow's fear gas trolled them as well. What could be your biggest fear other than for your movie to crash as you're near the end?

Its really nice to see someone experiencing this game for the first time. Your combat has really improved from the first part. I played it when I was young on the Xbox 360 around when it first came out and I was too scared of getting caught in the first Scarecrow sequence so for years I never got past it lol. Now about a decade later I have 100% completed it on pretty much every console (and PC) I have ever owned. Such a great game. A few things from early on in the video: You cant Batclaw grab Riddler trophies in Asylum but you can from City onwards if I remember correctly. At the start around 3:20 there was another Riddler trophy in the water to the left when entering into that sewer area and you need to climb up to the top and look down and align the question mark to solve the riddle of "This challenge can only be seen by those with the right view on life" When you said "I probably went past it" at 8:30 you were actually pretty much right on top of it. The Ratcatcher's stuff is in that vent if you look down in a little opening while crawling through.

By the way, you can still use your combat power-ups - such as the triangle + circle takedown - even when the visual prompts aren't telling you to. Those prompts were only there before for tutorial purposes. Anytime you exceed x5 on the combo meter, you can activate a special move.

You can use your combo takedown to eliminate an enemy even if they have a weapon, and it slows down time so you can focus on who you want to attack next to keep your streak going. It's perfect for when you get overwhelmed by attackers.

The Ratcatcher needed more than just his charm to lead his army, as in what small space that you can go travel through can rats crawl into as well, that's where you'll find the riddle. As for certain stealth rooms you could use the batclaw to pull over thugs from higher points so they'll fall down out cold, plus it's not wise to throw a batarang at a thug that's finding out where it came from, because it'll give away your spot and they can dodge it then they shoot you. The plants aren't too bad, the pods get triggered from fast movements when they release spores you can destroy them with a batarang, to destroy a pod just get close to it and press X.

1:25 Before you use the line-launcher here, you can use the bat-claw to pull one or two enemies off the ledge. About two is all you can do, after that they will all dodge it.

Loving the videos, brings back memories of 1st playing it years back. Little advice on some of riddler’s riddles. When it says something like seeing from a different angle or perspective. Use detective mode, there’s a hidden riddler question mark that can only be seen in detective mode.

I watched your last 4 Batman videos just today. I could clearly see your evolution in gameplay. I only give two hints: 1) The game won't keep reminding you of all the things you can do in combat, so it's up to you to remember what you can do. It will make it a lot easier if you remember to use takedown (triangle + circle) and Throw (square + X) whenever possible, especially against armed enemies. You can also use the batclaw and batarang during combos. 2) In a room full of armed enemies, you can be very creative in how you defeat them all. If an enemy is on an edge, you can use the batclaw and pull them down, if you are on a glass ceiling, you can take out an enemy underneath. You can hang from a ledge and the command will appear for you to knock an enemy down if they come close. Despite the hints, you are doing very well. Unfortunately I have seen all the videos available and will need to wait for more. I hope you play the other 3 games in the franchise

The best thing to do when entering Croc's lair is to have the batarang ready the whole time as your moving on the pontoons so you can hit his shock collar when he pops up to attack.

Ultra Batclaw is the final gadget so all Riddler trophies are now obtainable. (Though a couple require the range upgrade to the Cryptographic Sequencer).

Seriously though you’re right this is the best level of the game purely because of the build up to it and that Batman has been the predator the entire game and now Killer Croc makes him the prey. Advice: When you perfom an INVERTED TAKEDOWN, cut out quickly the hangded henchman, so the other ones not check out the Gargolyes, because if you leave it there, they will see you even you dont move, same for crates, try not to be near a body when you perform a takedown using those, they will check the floor, and in the weak walls use explosive gel, or in the floor near some stairs, so you can send them flying and takedown them.

That’s Batman’s greatest fear! Becoming the monsters he fights against. Batman is insane himself, but is aware of his code and swore he’d never kill. The demons he fights on the inside are worse than the monsters he fights outside! There are few occasions where he had lost it. Ever heard of The Batman Who Laughs?

To get a better fighting combo, just press into the direction of your next enemy and press the hit button only once. After you hit that enemy, press immediately into the direction of your next enemy and press the hit-button again only once. You will recognize that Batman will jump directly to the enemy and hit him. You will get into that flow then. If you press the hit-button several times on one enemy, the chance ist much bigger to get out of the combo. Ok, don't forget to press the defend-button when there are the lightnings above the enemy's head behind you.
