Great fly, do you treat the CDC when you pluck the feathers from the duck, would they be mainly mallard?

No, the feathers are already infused with preen gland oil, a natural floatant, and all wildfowl have a preen gland, so any water bird will provide cdc.

Deadly fish catching fly George thanks for showing it. I do tie myself but I’m now struggling with eyesight on some flies , can You recommend a good light and magnifying glass?

I am using a magnifying lamp I bought more than 20 years ago,I've no idea who manufactured it,my best advice is to get one with a big enough lens,minimum 6" square.

Thanks George for the great advice I do a lot of salmon fishing but I find it hard to stay far from the trout fishing and your channel has been a great help I’ve no problem seeing most salmon flies but harder on trout flies
