Ive never had a real arcade but i have to think going through and cleaning it up has to be an enjoyable experience seeing how much u can bring the machine back to life.
@KimboRice932 жыл бұрын
I think that process of cleaning it up might be more fun than the game itself haha. Great video! The cab looks awesome!
@KillerArcadeGames2 жыл бұрын
I have to agree with Kimbo on this one, its really kind of fun. Especially when its easier stuff like in this video haha. Giving them the love they've missed out on for the last several years is nice.

I'm glad you enjoy it! I'd love to these more often. I almost went to buy another cabinet but it sold before I got there.

@@KillerArcadeGames Doh! While my wallet sighs in relief after those kinds of misses, I always feel bummed. Any chance of spilling what the cabinet was? Curious minds are dying to know!
@KillerArcadeGames2 жыл бұрын
@@Y0Y0Y2K That was an Invasion The Abductors cabinet. I didn't really want the game itself but it was in a Midway cabinet with a great looking monitor. My plan was to get it, do some videos on Invasion itself, then slowly start the process of converting it to an MK4! The Invasion PCB can be turned into MK4 and I could have rehabbed the cabinet and put art on it. I was going to offer $400 but he had it up for $500 and it sold.

Ok, I can tell you exactly how your control deck is attached because of how I heavily modified my arcade standup virtual pinball machine. It is glued with a like liquid nail substance then those blocking strips are stapled into the cabinet. Real pain to take apart cause I needed to remove 2 and cut down 2 others vertically. Great job man, enjoy your new toy!

Interesting! I hope I'll never have to take it off haha.

Very nice, loved seeing the clean-up process, i played this game once when I was younger, but boy did it speedrun my quarters out of my pocket
@KillerArcadeGames2 жыл бұрын
I can see this being a major quarter muncher. Not having to worry about that is very nice. I just paid a ton of quarters up front haha.

I like the fact it's got a little character to it. Cleaned up well but embracing this isn't factory new. The history is awesome. Looks tops 👌!

Good choice on the T-molding. Black is safe, but a color like Red really pops.

I had missing red on my TTG. I ended up reflowing the RGB input pins on the chasis. That seem to fix the problem. Someone also recommended reflowing pins on the neckboard but I've had issues with the pins on the chasis with other cabs so that was a starting point with me. Good luck.
@KillerArcadeGames2 жыл бұрын
We tried that first. I was hoping that was all it would be but I didn't get lucky. Were now trying to replace the chip on the neck board. Beyond that, I've had someone offer me a neck board from their parts bin to hopefully fix it.

Its shocking how well these machines are built. My oldest game is Killer Instinct and its in great condition. All of my cabinets could be put back in arcades and probably run 10-12 hours a day and do just fine. Its crazy!
