Normally vets recommend give your pet a bath in dawn dishwashing soap no need for spraying them with flea medication once that is done wait a few days then put flea medicine on your pets to keep them off

They are very cute! I live in rural Australia surrounded by huge areas of forest, we have Echidnas, commonly known as spiny anteaters, they look a lot like your hedgehogs except for the face, they do not have a mouth that opens and chews but a long fine snout with a round tongue that can get into ant nests and the ants stick to their tongues, that's how they eat! they have very cute little faces, they are monotremes which means they are a warm blooded marsupial species that LAY EGGS but suckle their young in a pouch, the only other animal to do this is the Platypus, we get a lot of echidnas digging about, they are very sturdy and can dig into the ground if threatened very quickly, their spines are much thicker and stronger looking but are like thick knitting needles, not prickly, the ones around here are not frightened as they are used to me, and love digging up my garden, there is a creek in the valley with platypi too, male platypi have poisonous spurs on their back webbed paws, which can inject an extremely painful venom!

I have 8 hedgehogs in my garden, should I catch them and remove the ticks and fleas, or just leave them alone, they have 3 houses and food and water, just wanted to know what else I can do to help them

That was likely too much spray. I would not double the dosage, personally. I knwo that you do this alot, but it's usually best to give 4 sprays, roughly, see if this deals with the fleas. Then after twenty minutes or so check the animal to see if there are still large problems and give a couple of more sprays. This means that the liquid will catch any straglers.

Poor hedgehogs! I hare fleas!! They're very difficult to kill and now resistant to insecticides these days. Fleas get very agitated jump on you all over! ( I know, with flea experience nightmares)! But God bless for caring for u the hedgehogs! those two they are very cute too!!

Why show us the directions on the can, then not follow them? Directions say "Do not spray directly on the animal. Spray a cloth or brush...." You didn't do that and in this case a brush would probably help get it to the roots.

those directions are for lots of different animals you can use the product on ie stuff with fur, Hedgehogs dont have fur so spraying it onto their spines is fine, ive done it many times & the hedgehogs have come back to my garden for many months afterwards proving they didnt die !!
