I’ve always loved this song, their early stuff is well worth listening to when you get a chance, “Follow The Leaders” , “Butcher” , “ The Fall of Because” , “The Wait” was covered by Metallica

Killing Joke have a fantastic back catalogue. Too many great songs to highlight individual ones here really, just enjoy all of it. RIP Geordie, one of the best guitarists that has ever lived.

I love Killing Joke, they kind of flow between some of my favourite music genres, industrial, punk, post punk, goth, heavy metal, heavy rock, electronic and dub, without actually being any of them. Unbelievably powerful live. Love this track. It was their breakthrough album. But go back to where it all started, Killing Joke - Killing Joke. Awesome album, and Requiem, possibly my favourite KJ track, though that's a tough call.

Ty Chris! Will probably go back to their earlier material after :)

@JustJP when you do, you need to watch the lego video version of Requiem by Killing Joke, it's both funny and bizarrely an accurate depiction of the band...

When you do finish the album Night Time - you need to hit their First 2 albums. Especially the first record: Requiem, Wardance, Bloodsport, The Wait, The Fall Of Because, Butcher, Follow The Leaders. Both albums are Incredible.

Dfinately the First with the Non LP tracks from that period as well.

Yep, I totally agree! Killing Joke's debut album and What's THIS For...! are the band's best work. The Conny Plank-produced Revelations is also worth a listen, as is Fire Dances, not to mention Extremities, Dirt and Various Repressed Emotions which was a great return to form after their middle 80s new wave duties... but only after listening to their first two, which are not to be missed!

@@SPKdesign1 Yes, the non-album tracks "Nervous System", "Are you Receiving", "Pssyche" and "Change" are also worth checking out (I'm not very fond of "Turn to Red" and "Almost Red" with their dub leanings, but they're part of Killing Joke's early influences and shouldn't be overlooked).

@@a.k.1740 I liked the Turn To Red tracks but then I also like a lot of the In Dub lps.

Postpunk classic. Great live band.

Justin, have a look at the balance between the L and R channels on the device you play the music from! It's been several days now that the L channel is louder than the R one!

I saw them live with this tour, fantastic and impressive live band and a unique voice.

I also saw them on the Night Time tour, but I was disappointed compared to the Fire Dances tour in 1983, where I'd seen them before. Overall the musical direction was more ‘polished’, less raw than before, not to mention that the atmosphere in the audience was much calmer compared to the madness of the unleashed and uncontrollable crowd on the previous tour!

Another good Killing Joke song, but not a great Killing Joke song. If you have a taste for them once you finish this album, I highly suggest going back to some of their earlier stuff. Their eponymous first album would be good. 'Fire Dances' or 'What's THIS For...!' would also be good choices. But, still, I'm happy that you're doing "Night Time'. Any early Killing Joke is fun to listen to. So thanks!

So many old rock'n'rollers, recommending early stuff, in the comments. - Yeah, first albums are great! But with Killing Joke, you should listen to ALL after "Democracy"! Just because it's wonderful, how they stay true to themselves, but get heavier and heavier and show the people, where the real stuff is from ( I love "This World Hell")!

I can't find anything particularly special about this track, whose riffs are rather sluggish. Listen to the first two Killing Joke albums (Killing Joke from 1980 plus What's THIS For...! from 1981), and you'll hear sharper, more incisive riffs! (And I'm not even talking about the tense, uneasy atmosphere!)
