Thanks for the video showing the removal of the horrible vivint doorbell camera. I had their outdoor v2 “wireless” cameras for over 3 years and they constant went offline, online, we began getting false alarms from sensors they installed and many many other issues. I searched through several pages of search results on google, bing etc and couldn’t find what type of screw was in the bottom of this lovely doorbell. I appreciate you listing the size more than you can imagine! Lol

We had a very similar experience with Vivant! The sales rep flat out lied to us about the cost AND told us there was no contract beyond paying the equipment off. The service was crappy! The app took forever to load so that by the time the app showed the feed from the doorbell camera whoever had been there was long gone. We had multiple false alarms and then everything just stopped working.

Thank you for making this video. I have been thinking about buying a Eufy doorbell camera to replace my Vivint doorbell camera, which is the only useful Vivint device and costs me $40/per month. After watching this video, I bought the Eufy Dual camera with battery and emailed in my Vivint cancellation letter. Thanks again!

Thank you . This was so helpful. Vivant is the worst . I paid my equipment off and they charged 800$ after canceling and told me I have to pay the cancel fee for someone to come out and remove the equipment. Scam

Thanks for posting! I to am getting rid of Vivint and going with Eufy. I purchased the HDR and 2K wired video doorbell. I’m confused about the transformer you mentioned above. Mine came with a plug in doorbell chime/doorbell chime power connector. Did yours come with that as well? I’m wondering if that is supposed to be the same as a transformer? Any insight you can provide is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
@beardedtravelingman91734 жыл бұрын
Hi NCcutey. The doorbell chime and the transformer are different. The doorbell itself (the button/camera outside) gets power from the transformer. The chime which also plugs into the wall communicates with the doorbell button/camera wirelessly and I plugged that in really close to the front door inside my house. The chime is self-contained and all you have to do with it is plug it in. When Vivint installed my doorbell, they used the existing doorbell wires outside of my door and spliced in a transformer (which is a regular rectangular white wall plug looking thing) to give it the correct voltage for their doorbell. I was fortunate/unfortunate enough for them to drill a really ugly hole where they spliced it in and ran the wire through the wall to an outlet. That is the only reason I knew where it was located. In my house, this is really far away, so you might need to really look around. I found their transformer plugged in upstairs. My original regular doorbell that came with my house had the doorbell transformer in the closet where my air conditioner air handler is located). That is where I found the Vivint plug. Eufy sells both a wired version (which is what I have and requires a transformer with the correct voltage) and a battery-powered option. If you aren't able to locate where/how Vivint ran your power, you could go with the battery-powered Eufy and it will be a lot simpler. However, you'll have to charge it every few months. I hope this helps you!

I’ve heard horrible things about Vivint, so glad you’re done with them! How has the new doorbell been working for you? Has it lagged in any way with regard to notification time, any issues with the app? Is it user friendly? How is the customer service? Thanks in advance!

I'm getting rid of Vivint too. I've learned that these companies are all wasteful companies. You cannot buy used equipment to put in your house. YOu have to buy their whole new system and pay for it and it's yours and then you can't sell it. Then you have to pay $50/mo for their service. I can get the same thing for less than half using the Google Nest stuff. Or free without any recording. Still better than being so wasteful. I had extra Vivint cameras I bought on Ebay and they told me no. This is how I found out how wasteful they are. Then looking back, the past companies are the same.
@salmahmood56113 жыл бұрын
So if someone breaks in, and you weren’t next to your phone for any reason during that time… does the Google nest call the police automatically to stop the crime?
@justinroberts7671 Жыл бұрын
Correct that’s why vivint is the best.They have the best security so you can’t use their equipment after it’s disconnected from a previous account at another address unless you pay for the monitoring.

Hey Tks man! Can’t begin to tell u how stinkin awful our Vivint equipment is. It’s probably 5 yrs old now. Never worked well and so slow I could make a drawing of our guests before we’d get any type of pic from the app or console. I called their tech support a few days ago, got the run around and the Indian kept trying to connect me to sales. I’m like I don’t need to buy anything! Just tell me how to reconnect my doorbell! There’s some idiotic laws in Utah that allow companies like them to stay open
