the band received the "Innovator Award" at the 2010 Classic Rock Roll of Honour; the award was presented to Killing Joke by Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin, who stated, "I go back a long way with Jaz Coleman and the band. I used to go and see the band, and it was a band that really impressed me because Geordie's guitar sound was just really, really strong. And they were really tribal, the band, and it was really intense. It was just really good to hear something like that during the 80s, which sort of caved in a bit with haircuts and synthesizers"

I saw them live in The Netherlands in the early 80's. Most intense and loud gig i ever attended. It was a rather small venue and the sound almost blew one out of the place. Jaz was hypnotic, the others stoïc and brutally driven. At times you would wish for Geordie to stop his chainsaw to scream. Years later they recorded Love Like Blood which was like a lullabye compared to most of their songs. I liked it a lot though. Some of my favourites : The Hum (from Revelations album) Pssyche (from live album "HA") It's amazing how they still have this energy and survived the decades and all the BS from todays music crap. I only recently heard Pylon which i like a lot. I'm almost 60 now and KJ will be on my speakers a lot again. Amazing band.

'euphoric' archive footage was more than enough to make it all imho but, well, for some reason labels always want the band to show up. really nice processed vocals btw.

This reminds me of earlier stuff from Fear Factory. Specially vocals during chorus.

Killing Joke did influence Fear Factory a lot. They never got the stardom, but they are a musicians' band and many bands from different genres have cited them as influential during the decades. The special edition of KJ's album "Absolute Dissent" had a tribute record of cover versions by some of these bands to come with it.

+Tom Stephen So "Pylon" is the name of the new album ? It's perfect to explain their sound to a newcomer... some eelectric tensions Heaven Nirvana sound would have been different without K.J.

Starry&Bohemian Yup, "Pylon" is the name of the new album, exactly. :) Their sound is too original to easy explaining, but if I try to do that, it could be.. industrial metal/rock with post-punk influences, maybe? Of course it's about "new" KJ, not this "Love Like Blood" era.

Requiem, the first song on the first album was always my favourite KJ song for over 30 years. In the '90's, Millenium was a close second. Then... Euphoria showed up 35 years later. It's the new Requiem! Bit of a shame old bands can still make better music than what this younger generation puts out now.
