I'm still flabbergasted by this ending. What the hell?! - Close a trilogy with a cliffhanger?! Who the hell makes these decisions?

The only thing it could do is sit around and wait for repairs, which would probably take months if not a whole year. More than enough time for the remnants of the stranded ISA troops to make the trip to Vekta and warn Earth about Stahl's plans. Sevchenko deliberately went after Stahl's cruiser, even when it was already crippled and combat unworthy. He's deliberately responsible for the obliteration of Helghan's entire ecosystem and millions of Helghast.

@GN Online Gaming that may be why the game was half-assed then; most of their attention was on a new IP with a interesting premise. They probably only made Shadow Fall out of obligation, and Sony needing a cool-looking tech demo, which i will give this credit for: it looks spectacular, especially that city. even today, you can't tell me that metropolis doesn't look amazing. and i think they last reason they also chose Killzone was because it was riding high as Playstation's Halo equivalent.

I just finished with downloading. Killzone 3 is quite short around 5 hours maybe more. And i will definitely watch Killzone 3 on PSP or cell phone. But first i will have some work with Killzone 3. Fantastic Channel :-)

@ollamanfuse To be honest I think the story is better then the likes of Black Ops, MOH & BFBC2...the other top FPS games. Isnt the main attraction of FPS games the multiplayer? I dont get why people say they wont get it now because of the story, the multiplayer is the BEST PART of the game.

@InfernoDragonGuy Actually, the nuke was fire at the ship(so the ship could have taken a good ammount of the blast) and stahl could easily escape in a pod if the pod was shot fast enough.I looked at the shadow and that could easily be stahl.Not to mention, arent the two helghast soldiers at the end Stahl's troops by looking at thier suits?I personally think its stahl, seeing as the troops refer him to "sir".But then again, we wont know until KZ 4.

The end is weird that for sure. I think that Killzone 3 is not the last game in the series. End is to weird and story unfinished i guess. Maybe will made Killzone 4 in the future. I think that Stahl is survive. I watched whole gameplay on phone and is fantastic.

@ollamanfuse Your not paying 40 bucks for multiplayer, your paying 40 bucks for a great multiplayer and campaign.KZ 3's story was actually pretty good, it aint an RPG but as far as shooters go its above average.The campaign was also really fun to play, with great missions and epic moments.I love cliff hangers because it means future installments will be on their way.To me that is a good thing, I am a gamer and I love seeing new games of my favorite franchises.Though I agree about the AC ending

Here's something I've only noticed, Stahl's cruiser was crippled its warp coil was taken out. Without its warp coil, it wouldn't be able to make the trip to Earth, and most of its stationary short range defenses were also taken out during the battle, which means it wouldn't even be able to stand on its own against the the ISA fleet still guarding Vekta, which within range of a sub-warp trip from Helghan.

I see your point. Sev and the others were probably caught in the heat of the moment and, combined with their hatred towards Stahl after seeing what he did to ISA prisoners, didn't think it through. Also, I'm not sure I'd leave a planet-killing spaceship in one piece, damaged or not, especially with Stahl at the helm.

As a Killzone fan, this ending was a disapointment. I mean the whole Helghast fleet had to be taken out right? It would of been fine taking out Stahls ship because then their would be no flag ship and the helghast would be in disaray, but the ending ending would of tied up the loose knot. All I know is that in KZ4 the ISA would be like oh they're dead, but there would be an invasion of earth with the ISA and UCN in disaray.

The biggest bomb was 50 megatons. It was the tsar bomb. Could destroy about all of manhattan in one blow. Even if you had 1000 of those, it would still be hard to cover the entire earth.

A better ending would be if orlock wasnt killed. Stahl wanted to DESTROY earth.Orlock wanted to take Earth by force. If Orlock killed Stahl and took charge of the helghast. He would invade Earth instead of destroying it. So in Killzone 4 we would be fighting on Earth defending against a Helghast invasion.

Helghan would never be able to take Earth by force. Earth is the headquarters of all ISA, which means that as big as the ISA invading force on Helghan was, you'd be sure to expect something at least 50 times larger on Earth. Stahl's petrusite nukes were the best chance they head against Earth's forces.

@randomaccnt1 Well, we dont know for sure if stahl lives, but its very possible.The special cliff hanger ending shows helghast metting someone that just came out of a escape pod and called him "sir".And if you look at when stahl yelled F*ck when the nuke was coming, he runs towards the side right before the camera changes.So its very likely he JUST escaped before the ship blew up.Do we know for sure?No, but its likely.Atleast this game cliff hanger didnt end retardedly like MW2's did.

@ALIENxenomorph100 petrusite was littered throughout the planet in some shape or form. the irradiated stuff was a lot more potent per unit. what envolped the planet was most likely just shockwave, not explosion. that and who knows how much irradiated petriusite was at the detonation point

Am I wrong to say the ISA have lost ALL their 'moral high ground' since KZ2? They murdered Visari (not killed, since he posed no threat) and now they were THE cause of a global catastrophy. There were more than Visari loyalists on the planet - there were civilians and rebels, I'm sure (See: Hahka) - I was never one of those "The Helghast Are Actually The Good Guys!" types, but damn... I can't even kind of blame them for their hatred towards Humanity now.

I just hope this sets up a game where you can finally fuck up the ISA as the Helghast. BTW, this game looks amazing and I'm totally stoked to get the Helghast Edition tomorrow!

I haven't played any of the games besides Shadow Fall, which sucked, but I know of its lore and how shit the "protagonists" really are, and this fucking proves it. Not only did Rico lose his mind and kill the one guy they were supposed to capture (even though that would only worsen things cause of the Vektans and ISA being "peacekeeping" assholes), he and Sevchenko thought firing a nuke filled with a volatile energy on a vessel with the same energy, right above a planet's unstable atmosphere, would be a good idea. The Helghast may have been assholes themselves (granted this was only because of Visari's manipulation), but they deserved NONE of what they got throughout the series, especially this. And the worst part is, the protagonists don't receive their just desserts for ALL the shit they did to the Helghast. Icing on the cake is that the only one you'd actually hate survived this clusterfuck of energy explosions. BRILLIANT. Yeah, fuck the ISA and its masters. One of the few protagonist groups I actually wanted DEAD over the antagonists.

This ending is just horrible. Definitely not the sending off the Helghast deserve. The whole plant is nuked by a group of ultra cliche unstoppable good guys, Rico is an annoying stereotypical off the lease grunt and Sev is about as interesting as a cardboard box. The best characters for this series for always the Helghast and they just all just about got killed off. The Killzone back story was pretty solid up until this, it kind of makes me question GG's writers who came up with this.
