I found that a cheap foam brush works well to get the powder in place and keep the glass clean as well. ❤

Just got my kiln carved irid platter out of my kiln. I love it. Thank you for sharing the process with us. I did try to use hair spray to glue the strips on and I probably did not wait long enough for it to dry Sure enough when I flipped the glass over it all fell apart. I picked up the pieces and redid it with the Elmer’s glue. I let it dry overnight and it worked great

Fab project! A random tip for powder - I have some nail art fan brushes that I use all the time to move powder about. They are very soft and great for clearing up small areas on the desk (to save power) or move it on a project. They are very cheap on eBay.

FANTASTIC videos, Tabitha!! Thank you so much for taking the time to make these and share your knowledge! I followed your directions and my project came out PERFECT! I was a little nervous about the water holding the black frit in the cracks. But it all came out great. I sprayed my water instead of using a dropper.

Elaine Fuehrer Thank you for your kind comment. I’m sorry about your bubbles, have you checked your kiln shelf, I’ve heard that can be the trouble.

Hi, Tabitha; thanks so much for making this look so easy!I love this and can't wait to try it. Question about the cracking in the irid: is there anything that could be done to avoid that happening?
@TabithasGlassEmporium4 жыл бұрын
No, unfortunately it’s hard for it not to.

Tabitha, When you have a "1" in the 2nd and 3rd section of the slumping schedule, does it mean 1 minute, or 1 hour? Looking at the Full section of the firing schedule, the 1 says 1 hour. I assume that is what the Full means in the slumping schedule, but what about holding at 1240....1 minute seems rather short and I assume that it should be 1 hour. I wanted to check with you before I got to that stage. I love this project....I can't wait to see if mine turns out as cool as yours! Thanks....I watch every one of your videos and learn so much.

At the very end when you are ready to slump it you say something that sounds like spirit going in top of it...what is it that you do or did I misunderstand what you said?
@TabithasGlassEmporium4 жыл бұрын
Sue Hill when Im slumping I always use a spirit level to make sure all my moulds are level before I use them.
