You do such beautiful pottery and have such a good variety. I love your testing of glazes and they turned out beautiful! At the studio I go to, a lady made test tiles of every combination of colors there could be. It is like Christmas going through to decide what we want to try. We don't have some of your colors and I am envious. Those bowls with the whites and turquoise and other colors are to die for. I love the blues and greens.

@@thehappyhomesteadnh Oh I’m so glad you found that helpful. I never know how to make suggestions for people. I try to tell people what I know that has helped me. @@micheledickey4066 I’m just seeing this reply 😆 interesting. I used to get pin holes until I started using a slow cool firing schedule that eliminates pin holing and crazing!!! Happy to share it with you if you want to try. Which clay bodies are you using?
@micheledickey4066

@@thehappyhomesteadnh I have a kiln sitter kiln so I can’t really do a slow cool other than letting it cool all the way on it’s own. I did notice that using a matte glaze with a gloss seemed to be an issue. But of course that leaves so many combos out that I can’t use. I. Was using continental clay b-clay but every time I got some it was different and they just had so much inconsistency it was frustrating. I am now using Minnesota flays no 3 clay. I was told it was close to bmix but.. I just fired some of it in a bisque for the first time and found out that it is NOT white!! It’s a buff color so now I have no idea how much of a difference that’s going to make with the glazes!! I used to use b-mix then I went to the b-clay and buff stoneware from continental. I’ve made test tiles with all 3 of those glazes and I am BEYOND pissed that this clay is not white!! I have spent more time, energy, clay and glaze on making all of these test tiles!

@@thehappyhomesteadnh I was thinking about making some colored clay and remembered you saying that you didn’t measure how much mason stain you put in yours and wanted to remind you that if you don’t measure the amount it will be hard to replicate a color that you really like as well as making matching pieces! I have done several glaze combos that I didn’t write down and I hate that I can’t re produce them so that’s why I write every dang thing down that I can! Just a thought.

Then I took that cut piece (still attached from the point I started the cut) and placed it in a circle on the inside of the piece.
