Well Julia I loved that opening!!! That final piece, the large bowl...wowza!!! What an amazing glaze combo, so beautiful!!! So lovely to see two kiln openings in a short space of time too. Have to say your looking georgous too - definitely not how I look when I'm in my studio!!! I think real time videos work better for tutorials personally from my own learning preferences. Like you say you always have the option to fast forward. I also prefer when a tutorial is broken down into mini videos, not one long one. Maybe also in real time..... We all know as potters there are so many stages, hints, tips and tricks to pass on at so many stages. Maybe a playlist on one topic, with sub-videos is an option? I'd love to have a tutorial on your Cooo's - they have always fascinated me and would loev to have a go at one! I'll be there watching and supporting whatever video's you post Julia, always a delight to watch you, Keep em coming!

Oh Jeanette, thankyou so much for your wonderful comments, I really appreciate your support so much ❤️ I am really enamoured with that bowl, not sure I will be able to let it go 😄 I shall do a coo tutorial for you, they are tricky little things with all that hair but will make a couple ahead at different stages. I will have to play around with videos and see what works best, I guess time will tell. I am going to do different styles too as I have seen some silent ones that are really popular for beginners which I would like to have a go at. You have me thinking about making glazes now after seeing your videos too, sooo looking forward to those, and the raku, I helped my friend Michelle in one of her firings it was very exciting with beautiful results. What a great year ahead for us hobby potters, who would have thought it would be like this when we first played with clay 😁 Thankyou for all your support on this wonderful journey ❤️ ❤️

@@ceramicsbyjulia8552 2024 has to be the year we both get more time with clay and finding our mojo again. Raku scares and excites me all at once and the glaze making seems like a whole new chapter of terminology and processes. Bring it on....can't wait!!!

@FarForestCeramics I was only a helper for Michelle taking the lid off the raku kiln so she could get pots out quickly and get the lid back on but it was quite scary and exciting to do that. I am excited for 2024 for us both, what a brilliant year ahead 🙏

The cordovan might settle back into the holes if you refire? You’ve spent so much time on it, might as well. Maybe file the bubbles down a bit? Love that color combo with the oatmeal. Gorgeous medium bowl glaze that’s blue & green, such a rich mix of colors and the interesting outer sides make them unique, love them! . The raised feet on the bowls really give them a funky vibe feeling,. 😊💜oh wowza! What a great encore with that gorgeous bowls! I think you set a price for the bowl that you feel is enough to part with it. I have a feeling once you’ve sold it you fall in love with some of the next pieces you make. It’s hard to part with favorites but I’ve heard it gets easier.

Hi Natalie, thankyou for your kind comments, yes I think I will give the cordovan bowl a second fire just to see, I realise that I made the mistake of doing the cordovan all over instead of half way as I have done before. Still working on the price thing, will look at it again once I've got more stuff fired and I feel ready to sell. Thankyou as always for supporting my channel I am so grateful 🙏 😊

YAAAY. I’m so excited for you! What a beautiful kiln load you have. I can’t belive that amazing bowl cracked on you. But please try that combination on another clay and see how it does! I much more prefer real time videos that don’t linger on and on so you can fast forward yourself through anything that you’ve already shown or repetitive things. We will watch whatever you put up! For the price of the big bowl, considering it’s hand coiled I would ask 50.00 US dollars. But that’s just what I could maybe get in my area. You really have to do some research of what things sell for in your area. Go to other potters when at a market as well as looking online for what your type of piece sells for. Best of luck to you honey. I’m so glad you got the clay bug back!!

I really think celadons need texture to shine! I didn't used to like them either, but on white textured clay with enough layers of glaze they look great! Rainforest is one of my favs 💚

The coilwork on the outside unglazed is really nice. So your own style. Yes a tutorial about such a bowl i would like. Skipping meself forward in a video is not what i would like to do, so for me i think you make the time lapses yourself. Success Julia. Looking forward to your next video. Bey Sheila

Pricing is so hard! I let go similar sized bowls (only 3) for $30 each (Australia) at a Christmas market as I had them for a long time. Yours had more work in them though. I’m in western Sydney where it also isn’t as exclusive as right in Sydney. Loved your video 💛🔥
@ceramicsbyjulia8552
@ceramicsbyjulia8552 7 ай бұрын
Australians seems to charge less for their pottery I follow MudMagic and her pottery is so inexpensive. $30 aus seems like such a small sum for a large bowl. But it's what your market is willing to pay as you said they were sitting around for a while. Thankyou for watching video and your kind comments 😊

Everything is beautiful. Do you put a rolled out layer as the inside or do you rub the inside dots to get the smooth surface inside? I am brand new to this and tried just smoothing the dots on the inside surface. It was hard to keep the shape. Thank you. Yes a tutorial please on dots big and small bowls. I’m in Texas.

Hi Denise, I dont use any kind of slab, I keep the dots quite thick and moist and then smooth down the inside quite deep 😊
