I haven’t tried any of the Clayscapes glazes yet. I mainly use Coyote or Mayco with a few favorites from Spectrum. I love the idea of including spoon rests. I have a big kiln and a Paragon test kiln. I found the test kiln brand new on Craigslist for $150 and I’ve made 750+ test cylinders of various glaze combinations. I don’t make videos but I thought about sharing some of my favorite combos I’ve found in my months worth of testing. My favorite white is Coyote Alabaster Satin is very reliable, smooth and not too glossy. Spectrum has an interesting glaze called Texture Mottle it’s stable and creates interesting variations when used with other glazes if you want to try something new. My favorite out of your mugs is the Bigfoot mug. 👣 My latest experiments are using my glowforge to laser screen printing stencils for pottery. I use them to make underglaze transfers.

Oh thank you so much! So I use a method called Mishima. You do a layer of wax resist, carve through the wax, paint a layer of underglaze all over, and then wipe it away! The underglaze stays in the lines. I use Amaco Jet Black for that part. Hope that helps! 😊

Hi, I love your artwork. You mentioned the stoneware bmix as high fire. Are you firing to cone 6 or cone 10?

Thank you so much Mary! I am using Laguna B-Mix 5 which is a cone 5 clay. So I fire to cone 5. My kiln does fire a bit hot so I'm like at 5.5 cone. Laguna does have a B-Mix that is 10 if that is the cone you are hoping for. 😊

Oh thank you!! I am happy to help! I need to do a video about underglaze for sure because I know I had a lot questions when I started! So I bisque my work, paint on the underglaze, add a clear coat, and then fire to cone 5. Hopefully that makes sense! 🥰
