Hi Sally...so happy to see you again....and NEVER apologize for being comfortable (especially in your own skin-you're gorgeous!) Those carved bowls are outstanding, (love the way you say "JUST a carved bowl I did" LOL) I will have to go back and look thru your videos to see how you manage to keep them from not collapsing (like I seem to do!) God Bless, Stay Cool! hope to see you again soon

The first bowl I carved almost collapsed, had to really caress it to make sure it didn't. Like most things in pottery, it is all about timing. you want the piece soft enough for your knife to go through without a lot of resistance but also needs to be firm enough to hold the shape. Never give up. I have been carving for about 10 years now and still am challenged with it, but I never give up

Your carved bowls and lanterns are fantastic. Do you use a cutter or a knife to make that pattern? I’d like to see a video of the carving as I find it rather difficult to do. Thanks for sharing.

If you look back on my videos I think I have one showing carving of a pineapple lamp. If not, I will make one. I use a Hsin Tools carving knife/blade. The pattern is traced and then carving is freehand.

Lovely to see you again Sally and a wonderful selection of beautiful pieces 😊 The ashtrays and butter dishes are lovely, they look complicated to make? Here in England the summer hasn’t been that hot and we have had a lot of rain! It’s either boiling or cold 😂
