you are not alone in asking, I will try to do a video with bowls in different stages as it does take a while allowing glazes to dry in each step

Just got in from walking in snow an sleet wet to the bones, saw this. Hot cup of tea and great content, especially liked the bowl on a foot, good for anything, really. Liked everything else to! I am also a follower of Vaughn Smith, particularly like his wales. Anyway, thanks so much for posting and showing us your work. I thoroly enjoy every time!

Nice work! That bowl!!! Love the mugs with honey flux and stroke & coat. I bought Periwinkle and didn't know what to do with it. Now I have a combo to use. Thanks!
@SallyRoperPottery Жыл бұрын
Honey flux gives a very different outcome as the light flux I used here seemed to distribute the colours more. Here I did full dip in Egg Shell , a heavy band of light flux and then a strip of stroke & Coat directly from the bottle.

So good to see you again! You make amazing pots!! Your peacock bowls are just stunning!!! What a great idea using the seaweed on the rim to really make it flow. I hand build but I wish I could make such a striking bowl like that. I so enjoy Vaughn as well. I don’t know if there is anything he doesn’t make!!

Vaughn is fun to watch and I have learned many techniques from him. His experience is vast and I love that he is willing to share his knowledge. #VaughnSmith

I am very glad you're back doing videos again. Yes, the peacock bow alsol took my breath away, even being here in Michigan. How is your husband doing. It's been a while since you posted, and he was the first thing I thought about when I saw you were back on. Again, it's great you're back on again.

Sally. Yes! That bowl is Fantastic ❤. Thanks for the quick chat the other day. I feel I owe Matthew an apology. I started watching him back when he was building his shop, on the TV. I worked nights, and well no opportunity to comment. Retired now. I just caught the Live while listening to KZbin while throwing. Wish you safe travels. 🌺

I started watching Matthew several years before he built his wood kiln and am an avid admirer of his videos and work. I bought a dish from his very first Wood Fire #1 and then carelessly broke it. He was so kind to offer a replacement but I wouldn't have it as it was my fault. Matthew has a kind heart. #MatthewKellyPottery

You've turned me onto Opulence glazes. I rally like Autumn Frost. It looks good on my PSH warm brown clay. I may have some posted some on Facebook. Nice Garlic jars!!
@SallyRoperPottery Жыл бұрын
Thanks. I have been using Opulence Glazes for 12 years and a few are my favourite for dipping, admittedly, they don't brush on well, very chalky.

Wow! You are right that bowl is a keeper, or at least I would have a hard time parting with it. I was just thinking I’ve not seen any videos of you, so this was a nice surprise. How’s your husband doing.? I love the smalll bowls, and I’m going to but the yellow glaze. Blessings to you!

Hello Sally, my husband and I have enjoyed watching your videos. Have to tell you, the black clay you used is stunning. All the pieces are so beautiful; especially when you leave the black clay bare. I am sorry this comment does not match what you are showing at this moment. We watched your unloading of the black clay on our television and unfortunately I couldn’t find it on our ipad. So I said what the heck I am sending this comment along anyway. Would really love to see you do some throwing sometime. Also, your ornaments in another clip are so lovely; especially when you add messages to them. Could you please tell me what type of wire you use. Couldn’t make out what you said it was. Thank you so much. Cheers Paula and Reiner, Paisley, Ontario Canada.

The black clay is Laguna 391. In as much as it is easy to throw, it makes a god-awful mess of my work area. I don't use it as often as I could. I too love the look of leaving a bare area as the clay is gorgeous.

Good morning. I really enjoy your videos. I went on line to purchase the opulence Blue Monday but the color looked bright blue and shiny. Did you have the Opulence eggshell under it?
@SallyRoperPottery Жыл бұрын
No, I glazed the ashtray (count of 3, one dip, two hold, three out) and pedestal bowl Blue Monday I dipped the stand then turned it over on a banding wheel on a rack and poured BM hole spinning the pot. I did not layer it over Egg Shell.
@sharonbryant5811 Жыл бұрын
@@SallyRoperPottery thank you. I was on the Sheffield pottery website looking at the color samples. The tile sample for Blue Monday was a much brighter blue and shiny where your pieces appear frosty and matte. I like the color you get. Do you think it’s because you do not fire quite as hot?

Thank you😊 Beautifully thrown pieces, what clay do you use? It’s very white, is it porcelain? I watch Vaughan and oh I too have learned so much from his channel 😍
