Nice windscreen table. Light and up off the ground. Have used a heavy piece of cardboard triple wrapped in aluminum foul. Not pretty but works, better than toting a flat rock...( don't ask )

I have used (but not carried) rocks plenty of times. My most common DIY windscreens are made from aluminum flashing or oven roasting pans. Thanks for commenting

G'day Mark, like the little fella in particular. Would've been nice if it folded away in the table configuration since thats the way you'd most often use it. But in fairness it's a pretty simple change over. Cheers Duke.

I agree Duke. It took me a bit of playing to learn the best way to fold it up and I wished it would be a table first as well. Thanks for commenting

Mark, after watching this video, I went snowshoeing up by my day camp. I set up my folding camp table and set out my folding wood stove (for the smokie) and a gas stove (for the chai). Once the titanium mug was brought out, the table was mostly taken up with all the nice cases and bags that the gear came in. I think those mesh pouches on your camp table would be a good place to stash all of those. I have since made a fabric hammock to attach to the table frame, under the top, to put such things into, at least when the ground is covered with snow.

Your hike sounds like it was very enjoyable. Good suggestion for the gear hammock under the table. Thanks for commenting

As you were indicating, I also can see the usefulness of the smaller table. For car camping the usefulness of the larger table might be increased by using a piece of wood paneling or perhaps a sheet of Coroplast as a harder surface to lay on top of the table. I fashioned an entire table out of a sheet of Coroplast that I think is just the coolest table that weighs almost nothing.
@MarkYoungBushcraft
@MarkYoungBushcraft Жыл бұрын
Hi Lonnie. Coroplast is great material for a number of projects. I used used to make splints for arms and legs and few other things. Not expensive, especially after an election😉. I often find election signs abandoned along the road side. Thanks for commenting

The smaller table certainly looks more useful. I don't think I'd go for the larger table. Thanks for the demo of the two😁

Nice video Mark, thanks. I have the next larger of the tables with the aluminum top panels. Haven't taken it out much, but it looks really nice so far. I also got the high back chair. Looking forward to taking that out on canoe trips in the spring. Thanks again.

I found a larger version at a thrift store. Packs small and has reasonable weight but I use it for car camping. Thanks for commenting

The small table is interesting but once a again an outdoor use table without adjustments on the legs, this is a pet peeve as it would be so simple to do this so one ends up with a stable table. The larger table is a Helinox copy.

Adjustable legs would be a plus on uneven ground, which is always the case in the woods. Thanks for commenting

Like the little table I do carry a table hiking from a different company, but I like this one. Not so much for the big one, don't like soft top. Good review, stay safe, and keep exploring

Nice little table but personally I wouldn't use it for a backpacking trip as its to heavy. The one I use is only 28g.

I think they missed the mark on the mesh top table. They could have made a thin aluminum sheet of metal to slide into a pocket on each side of the cup holders to give each side a flat surface. I really liked the first table, but I can't imagine using it as a wind screen. Won't that just tunnel the wind?
@MarkYoungBushcraft
@MarkYoungBushcraft Жыл бұрын
You have a good point. The larger may be lightweight but not as versatile as a more solid surface would be. Thanks for commenting
@hypo345

This a copy of the Helinox table one who do in fact make a solid top version (the solid top is one price though) one used to be able to purchase the solid tops separately, not sure if they still do that. Having purchased the what they call hard top which is the folding canvas surface and then separately bought the solid top one has the best of both world.

Hi, that type chairs intended to use its bag as hanged pocket on the frame crossing as bag has handles on both sides. Is it the case for "bigger table"?
