I worked in the only movie theater in a very small town when I was 14 and Porky's was released. I saw every movie that played regardless of age restriction. Funny I'm pretty sure people would explode over a movie like Porky's now. I'm not saying it's a classic either but I certainly found it funny when I was a kid.

I saw Porky's at a drive-in when I was like 12. It was paired with, no joke, some live action Disney movie. Honestly we'd call that kind of humor "12 year old school boy" so I guess that makes sense, but I'm guessing it was an accidents on our parents part. She nails it at the end there. "Boy, you've been a naughty girl, you let your knickers down." Women are punished for being sexual in this culture. Less now than then, perhaps, but we haven't beating it out of our group consciousness yet.

She's lucky, Hugh Wilson wrote and directed Police Academy and said it was a LOT worse, it was going to be a 'gross out' comedy but it was actually relatively good and fairly low key but for a few parts. But he said he rewrote it because it was his first chance to get to direct. He's the guy who created WKRP and Franks Place, the guy was a good writer so you can imagine what it could have looked like.
