He said in his show Jaefriends he chose Glorious Day as the title not bcs it's the best song out of the album but it's perfect to show his gratitude to his fans since it's a celebratory album. I think he did this album with live performance in his mind and Glorious Day is perfect for the opening of concert. And I don't really mind with the compositions bcs he always use live band when he did live performance anyway so they'll always tweak and change the sound. I can't wait when he finally perform all of these songs live bcs I can already imagine how he'll perform songs like Summer J, which he'll get the fans to participate and shout JJJ on live

I really liked Summer J in studio version, but after watch his concert online in Seul it's my favorite song of this album. He played this song for 20 minutes in the concet 😂❤

I think Jaejoong's WWW album is what your looking for from him. If you want the "rock feel" this is it. Honestly, it's my favorite album from him because I love rock. Flower Garden, on other hand, is an album to celebrate his 20th anniversary, hence why Glorious Day is chosen as the main title track, as it has that Olympic feel to it. The concept of the album is that each song represent a different flower. Anyways, looking forward to your reaction to his other albums.

Always interesting to hear your thoughts on any tvxq/jyj/jaejoong content. Thank you and thanks also to those who continuously request for these types of content from you 😊 As for me, I liked how varied the songs were in this album. I've been following Jaejoong since his debut and it just goes to show how he still has so much to offer. Pretty excited to see him perform some of these live in his next concerts. Jaejoong once said his songs aren't for you to listening all the time, he does music to people listen it when then need to. He focus more in the meaning of the song. There's some songs I dont really listen to, but sometimes i need to listen to it so I can balance my feeling and emotions

I'm already addicted to this album. I like its genre diversity. The best thing about these songs is that you can listen to them with closed eyes, i.e. to exclude the visual perception that is leading in much of today's hits, where the MV is more important than the song itself. I hope you continue to listen to some of these songs just for pleasure. Thanks for the reaction!

I listened to glorious day initially and was worried that I wouldnt enjoy this album but after several listens its become one of my favourites. I loved the rocky vibes of devotion and dopamine, but dream party and rain shower surprised me. Love love the variety in this album

And, I suggest you listen to his WWW & NoX albums. These two now still top others and can show his different sides and how capable he is in mastering different genres and different types of songs, his emotions, his high and low registers no wonder he’s named the rainbow voice! For other minis & albums songs are still good and much above standard. His songs’ world view also surprises us that his songs not limited to K-Pop but universal!

Thanks for your analysis! I pretty much liked the same songs as you. My favourites were Summer J and To the Boy. I'm also quite disappointed with Glorious Day and I didn't understand why I wasn't totally feeling Tru Love Tru Lies & Concrete Heart until I heard your thoughts so thank you! I don't dislike those two songs enough to stop listening though. Jaejoong's vocal is too good. And now I'm really curious to hear your thoughts on his earlier album WWW which contains some of his compositions.

I also really love Dream Party and To The Boy! And I agree Glorious Day sounded a little basic which was a shame. I love Tru Love Tru Lies but it was interesting hearing your critique for it and the rock tracks in this album in general! Like someone else mentioned, would love to hear what you think about his album WWW! Thank you for another great review :)

"Don't" is a song that is said to "Sasaeng" who has been bothering Jaejoong since TVXQ. As the lyrics say, there are atrocities suffered by "Sasaeng." Some people who saw some incidents even went too far to thank Jaejoong for living without dying(serious stalking, home invasion, and a car accident on purpose…) The reason why he chose a bright melody for the lyrics was that he didn't want to drag this topic too heavily, and he also said that I hope idols who are now being terrorized by "Sasaeng" will hear this song and be comforted.

Honestly I'm not into it at the first time I listened. But when I keep listened to it, I feel different, something change. Now I love this album so much. But WWW is still my favorite one, pls check it out ❤

Wow we got really same taste and favorites! Your reaction is so good. When the album preview dropped, I already fall in love to dream party by listen to 5 sec. Over all i like dream party, rain shower, to the boys, and concrete heart. Dream party is such a new kind of song that jaejoong sing after all these years. FYI this song is produced by a producer who works with SM artist like red velvet and the lyric written by jaejoong that's why this song is totally amazing. At first i dont get why he got glorious day for the title, it's a good song but for me listen to it once or twice is enough. He said he chose because of the lyric and vibe so he has own reason, while dream party made me addicted lol next level song to flex his vocal. Rain shower also perfect one, i feel like a type of ballad song that SM will produce, so sm style 🤣🤣 I always say that jaejoong's voice is sooo RnB, Pop, Ballad like the real genre of TVXQ. But since he like rock and sing rock song, sometimes he just sing it in pop way but the vocal sounds rock, you get what i mean?? 😂 he basically born to be ballad pop rnb yet try his best to rock song and that's what i love from jaejoong, his voice blend to any genre and he did good control with dymanic. WWW album is perfect sample for a good balance of 50% rock and 50% ballad in one album. A masterpiece. I've been hoping and praying that someone would do a deep dive into this album from a production standpoint, so I'm delighted this video exists. Thank you for sharing your thoughts 😊 As many others have already said, his previous album WWW is a fan favourite because it was the culmination of what he calls his "rock disease" era and has a much more raw rock vibe overall, so I think that would be more your cup of tea. My personal favourite album of his is No. X, because I think it kind of succeeds in a lot of things that Flower Garden tried to do: it experiments with different genres while still feeling authentic to Jaejoong's vision, but it in my opinion it has more cohesion and overall stronger tracks. I think this album was a bit self-indulgent in the sense that it was all about what he wanted to communicate to the fans. That's why I AM U was chosen as a pre-release track (the lyrics are mostly made up of the titles of his past songs from as far back as early TVXQ days to fairly recently), and Glorious Day was chosen as the title - because they're all about expressing his gratitude to the fans and coming from a much happier place than his past work (especially between 2013-2018). It's also his first album since leaving his old agency/record label C-JeS Studios, who he's worked with ever since JYJ was formed. This time he worked with his own agency, iNKODE, and Warner Music Korea, so maybe some of the variations in production was due to getting used to a new team. The album was also made very much with touring and live shows in mind, so I hope that really brings the songs to life and gives the instrumentation a chance to shine. But I do concede that it's a bit of a lost opportunity to reach a wider audience if stronger title tracks had been chosen. I was so glad to hear you're a fan of Don't. I guess the only way he could've expressed nearly two decades of harrassment and trauma from stalkers without it being a total downer was to filter it through a light-hearted and off-kilter song like this, but I don't think the levity makes it any less emotionally charged. I absolutely adore it.

Thank you for your reaction video. It was very enjoyable to hear your commentary. I normally enjoy his rock tracks more. Whilst the rock tracks in this album are good, I felt other tracks are better in terms of the composition. But overall, this album is still a great album that I have been putting on repeat.

I like the variety of vibes in this album. There's what sounds like disco sounding songs, some rock, and the music and sound of Don't reminds me of Animal Crossing for some reason 😂 Also im obsessed with the artwork for the album. Its so beautiful 💖

Oh, you also felt that Miyavi vibe in the track with him. I was very glad that the vibe of Miyavi was there. Some moments remind me so much of moments from his old song "Hi no Hikari Sae Todokanai Kono Basho De". This really brings out my nostalgia. I love this song. Surprisingly, I really liked Dopamine. It sounds unusual and interesting for Jaejoong. Although there is a moment in the middle that confuses me. I love Tru Love Tru Lies. This song is totally my style, but it sounds SO dirty. It's like it was recorded on an old tin can. Seriously, it's hard to listen to. And this “metallic” background is added to his voice, which is very annoying. At first I couldn’t even understand why the sound quality in the track was so bad. But it's just that way. It's a pity. The song would be great if it was recorded well. And I really liked Summer J too, despite the fact that I don’t really like happy songs. This track really should have been the title track. This could have played out much better for everyone. Although those "JJJ" inserts sound a little awkward to me. He just put his name in his own song. But I resigned myself haha Devotion is also good and I liked it. The Light sounds easy and quite pleasant to me too. But for a certain mood. But I was very upset by the amount of voice processing. It's just criminal to do this to Jae's voice. Otherwise, the entire album passed me by. I'm glad that I can listen to at least 4 songs here. Thanks for the reaction and analysis.

I was expecting a second part of JYJ Marathon, and here comes your reaction to Jae Joong's new album. Even better! "Dream Party", which you like the most, is last in my ranking, as I have not yet determined number one. I'm hesitating between 5-6 songs. For me there are good and very good songs in "Flower Garden" and no filling. I ask you to share which album of recent years you would define as flawless! I would be interested to hear it. To better understand your concept of perfection.

Ooh, you've put me on the spot 😅 I have a hard time defining even my favorite albums as flawless, but one album that comes to mind in recent years is Rina Sawayama's debut album SAWAYAMA (2020). If you're looking for something that I replayed to death, that is a good example. Hopefully you'll find some tracks that stand out :)

@@ohacade408 Today I proved the correctness of the Russian proverb: "На вкус и цвет товарищей нет." /"There are no comrades according to taste and color"/ I listened to the whole album "Sawayama" and most of the time I was thinking, when will it end. Maybe if I wasn't eager to switch to political and sports analysis that pops up on KZbin all day, I'd appreciate it more. But thanks for the recommendation!

Glorious Day had a meaningful message. Jaejoong chose this as his title track because he said this is like a victory song from what he has been through and showing gratitude to the fans. Don't is a song for his sasaeng fans but he made it a little sweeter for his juniors who had the same experience as his, because he said he wanted to comfort his juniors thru this song as he knew the stress that they had been dealing with because he experienced it.

In terms of vocals, this album exceeded my expectations. In terms of songwriting and production, I had mixed feelings. I definitely agree that there are some very challenging vocals on this record!
