Kim has a way of crediting herself for things she hasn’t achieved by herself, for example she denied promoting unrealistic beauty standards & attributed the way her body looks to her “getting off her ass” & doing the “work,” whilst failing/refusing to acknowledge/admit to the abundance of surgery she’s had which has hugely contributed to the way she looks. It’s the same here. Whilst her statement is in & of itself accurate, it needed to come with the acknowledgment that her success has come with not only hard work but a head start & a leg up. Anything short of that is a little patronising & to some offensive.

Girl please, your biggest stress right now is Kanye! Most of us work really, really hard and have two jobs! All while having to cook, do laundry, clean, help with homework, drop off and pick up our kids for school activities, pick out clothes for the next day, etc. We also have home and vehicle repairs that some of us do ourselves because we cannot afford to pay someone. Or call someone that charges $50 -$100 bucks an hour just to come out! We do not have the luxury of having assistants, housekeepers, and nannies to do these things for us. @@ObservingtheMatrix the only simple minded person here is you. Did you not read what this person just wrote about Kim stealing money from Brandy’s family and flipping it but want to tell us to work hard? Sex tapes were taboo back in the day which is why Pamela Anderson, Paris Hilton and Kim K earned notoriety from them. The IG thots of today will never be able to do what those women did because the market is over saturated with them now (I guess that’s the luck you speak of) as well as social media over exposure. At the end of the day Kim had a leg up: a name, celebrity inner circles and a team to help her build her brand. I do believe she works hard but let’s not act like this woman didn’t have a head start. Or ignore the resources she has that many of us will never have (Nannies, assistants, trainers, chefs etc). As an entrepreneur myself I know the difference between having a team and grinding on your own and it’s MUCH easier with a team. I started planning large scale events for a company I worked at and it was a lot of work. But, I had a team behind me which took some of the load off of me. When I branched off and started my own event company from scratch I didn’t realize how hard it was to do it alone. No assistants to order products. No warehouse staff to pack boxes. No team to put together the event or cleanup. I had to do that shit myself and it was hard and sucked. All while still working a 9-5, caring for family, cooking and cleaning etc. So yeah, Kim telling us to work hard while she’s surrounded by a team and money (startup money that she stole from Brandy) is tone deaf 🙄

Dear Funky Dinerva, words can hurt others even if one doesn’t know the speaker. It was International Womens Day when Ms. Kim Kardashian gave her advice. Many things separate true unity between women and many women are taking notice of inner misogyny and ego that makes some women believe they are the only ones doing the work. This comment is in the same vein as Rachel Hollis. Who apparently is “successful” because she is the only one willing to wake up at 4am. Baristas and other morning shift employees don’t exist it seems. Also, this is the same person who said her family doesn’t set an impossible Beauty standard because they are the ones who “do the work and go to the gym.” So all the people who bought their diet candy, teas, starve and over exercise themselves aren’t working hard enough. It is saddening that on a day we expect women to raise each other up, this woman has decided to talk down to and even lecture other women just like the rest of society.

Thank you again Al for recognizing the struggles of everyday Americans, and the income disparity between the wealthy and the middle class and poor. I saw a video comment where a woman described her experience working for the Kardashians. She received a low wage which she could barely survive on, and was told she couldn’t work a job on the side. I don’t agree with Claudia and Q that people are angry with Kim just because the thoughtless advice is coming from her in particular. The fact is that the Kardashians and most wealthy entrepreneurs stand on the backs of their hard working, often exploited, employees who are putting in the “hard work” while people like Kim and her sisters take ALL the credit. There are people who are actually working two to three jobs just to keep their heads above water. Kim gets so much credit for getting her law license. I went to four years of college and three years of law school before I sat for the bar exam. Kim took advantage of a California law that allowed her to apprentice for a lawyer (One of her father’s friends I bet.), was tutored outside of a law class, and then sat for the California bar exam. Mrs hard work is great at avoiding true hard work and taking advantage of her wealth and connections to achieve a goal. Kim Kardashian and that whole clueless klan are the last persons I would listen to about hard work and achieving your goals. Claudia and Q need to step outside of their celebrity bubbles every once and a while and see how Americans are struggling in this country today, and it is NOT because they are unwilling to work. What Kim said was elitist and insensitive. 🤨🤨🤨🤨.

A lot of people are realizing their worth and that the work they do can be done at home, relieving a lot of workplace stress, could lift the financial burden of childcare off a lot of families and so much more. The collective doesn’t need to hear a tone deaf message from a woman who’s claim to fame is her fathers name, lying on her back, stealing money, black women’s clothing ideas and image and taking the credit from black women lawyers when it came to freeing those prisoners and prison reform. Wow. Q and Claudia seem so out of touch when it comes to this topic. Why does Q continue to say that she could do or say anything and people would comment? That could be said of anyone. You have to identify the messenger along with the message. Are they serious? That is the foundation of a personal brand. The bottom line is that it was in poor taste and extremely insensitive for a WW who grew up wealthy to then speak to the millions of people who follow her and tell them that they should work and then make a judgment about people saying that they do not want to work these days. Now, if she had come from the bottom and was speaking from a perspective of overcoming poverty or adverse circumstances, it would have been received much better, but for someone who went from wealthy to billionaire she should have had that convo with her sisters or comrads and not posted it on social media. One's every thought is not to be shared with the masses. That seems like common sense so I am surprised at this commentary. Al, thank you for sharing some sense of reason.

The day of a woman like Kim vs a working class woman is nothing alike , especially when we talk about hard work or the labor force. Being awakened daily by an assistant with fresh juice and avocado toast, to then getting your bath drawn in your multi-million dollar house where the Nannie’s know not to bother you with YOUR own kids, while you take zoom meetings with billionaires and celebrities DYING to collab with you on anything, but not before inviting you to their yacht for a work-dinner ,only to come home and oversee the work all of the help has done and then go to bed on 1.1million thread count sheets next to your billionaire husband just don’t sound like hard work to me…work it is , but sis…don’t push it.

@rasta4872 жыл бұрын
For me it was the tone. For the decade they've been around a repeated term from Kris Jenner was that her kids have a "great work ethic",..that's palatable & inspirational...now to see Kim with a dry smirk say "get off your f'in A & work" while the others nod their head like yea!...it simply sounds rude, disrespectful & condescending. So be it. Its about where the world seems to want to be anyway.

None of the kardashians have built themselves from the ground up. No one cares, but people act like her statements were wrong, and they were not. All our lives our parents told us to work hard. But now that Kim said it, where ready to attack her? People, people worry about a possible World War 3. Worry about these white folks trying to take our rights and put us back in slavery, and you worry about some damn statements that Kim made? Really?
@angelinaperea62532 жыл бұрын
I think that the emotions that people are feeling based on Kim's comment correlate to some of our experiences in the workplace. People work so hard to climb the corporate latter, to get promotions, and ostensibly to increase our income with the belief that once we reach a certain number (pay range) that our lives will be as we planned, and sometimes that just doesn't happen. The glass ceiling is a real thing no matter how much you sacrifice, especially if you're a woman in Corporate America. You can put in overtime, work weekends, and miss out on alot of life/family events, and you still won't get the raise/promotion that you were busting your butt so hard for. On the other hand, what I got from Kim's statement was that we live in the age of the influencer/entrepreneur/overnight social media star, and many young people don't want to work a regular job because they're fascinated with the idea of easy money. While those who know that if you're a content creator or do some sort of social media work that they're is alot of work (not to mention expenses for content tools) behind the scenes, many kids believe it's easy so they make being an influencer a goal. If you really think about what Kim said in the beginning, "Get off your ass", she's not speaking to us regular working people; she's speaking to those who don't work yet want everything handed to them; which as we know isn't realistic 🤔.

But, lil Melissa saying some stupid shit to her 2,000 followers and we responding with outrage won’t get the same airtime unless it’s a viral moment.
