You can tell at the end that she was sick. I've seen her a few times live and she always, without fail, hits high notes with such ease. This performance was still great though, she just couldn't hit those high notes like she usually would, understandably.

She was so sick in this performance that she had to use IV drip therapy on the day of this performance . And this was days after she had finished a 20+ date tour. The performance itself is good but nowhere near her best and It's a shame that this so happens to be her first and only officially taped performance of the song. Check out my upload of her singing Icy on the halloween show to hear what she sounds like near her peak. You can tell that the whole vibe of the halloween performance (her voice, motions, and presence) is on another level.

As a fan of her you can really tell that she sounds different. But you obviously can't blame her for that. For people who don't listen to her on a daily basis she probably won't even sounds that weird. I had the pleasure of watching her live in her home city Cologne and it was amazing. I already have the tickets for her next gig here in February. She's really talented.

It's an effect done with autotune. Post Malone is another one who uses it. I've never seen it used live though. Makes me question if it is the same effect Post Malone uses or just her voice. I guess she wouldn't be the first though Stevie Nicks, Susannah Hoffs, and Belinda Carlisle have it. But , I've never seen someone use it selectively like that.
