The creators usually take a page from the voice actors books and make them look a bit like their fictional characters as well as adding a dash of the voice actors actual personality so it's a bit easier on them to voice. I mean it's less of a challenge being a usually peppy, cheerful actor playing depressed character in a movie since you can use facial expressions and body language meanwhile voice actors have a bit of a handicap. So it's just easier to toss in a smidge of the voice actors personality. They can emulate that a lot better lol
