(4:22) ..... ....now, THIS is how you do a COVER! ....rough, Euro-centric, attitudinal.....Kim was PISSED that her Lover treats her bad, and she's lettin' him KNOW it! ...this hit #1 Pop for 1 week, June, 1987, AND....the trivia..... - ....Kim took a LONG time to finished her "Another Step" Album, and this tune was One of the last tracks to be included; It pissed Rod Temperton off, because HIS tune Empress reacted to ("Say You Really Want Me") was supposed to be the 1st Single, because it was to be tied into the '86 Billy Crystal flick, "Running Scared"... - the Video for "Hangin'...." has another twist, too....The 'Lover' (who's in the Doorway, in silhouetted darkness) is Kim's BROTHER, Ricky Wilde; the Male Model who was supposed to be in the Video, didn't show, and they couldn't get a last minute replacement; Ricky showed up on the set, and everyone KNEW that would be....WRONG.....but there was NO ONE on set good looking enough, for Kim! ...SO, they put him in the doorway, and SWORE no One was to mention it was him....the gossip came out around 2001, during an UK 80's Video Docu....

This song was Kim Wilde's biggest American hit song ever!!! Not only this song hit #1 on the British Pop chart, but it also hit #1 the Billboard Hot 100 chart and stay there for two weeks during the early summer of 1987. The original version by The Supremes went to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart back in 1967. Both versions are bangers indeed!!!

Diana Ross & the Supremes’ version was 🔥 in 1967 and Kim’s version was 🔥 in 1987!! Still loving both. Kim’s official video for this (complete with wind machine for dramatic effect 😄) is nearly impossible to find now and should be re-released!

It's edgier because they turned it into a rock/disco arrangement with rock guitars and very heavy drumbeat. The original doesn't have that sound at all.

This was the version I grew up knowing and loving, I didn’t know the supremes did it originally until a few years later. I like them both but this was my favorite. The Vanilla Fudge version is really really good too, very different, slow and bluesy!
