I like a fun interview that's can be laughable at times but not this interview. Frankly, her going through Madonna suitcase while she isn't present seemed like an invasion and exploitative. I believe this was Madonna's one and only interview with Ruby Wax. Watch the YT video called Ruby's bombing of her interview with Madonna - She claiming her nerves took over, then got aggressive, then went into her 8 yr old nervous breakdown mode yet tried to remain 'professional' - I didn't see any of that, she started with that schtick and never let up. In fact that was the typical style of a Ruby interview. Her explanation of Madonna's Princes Di comment is insulting and reported out of context.

This isnt meant to be a serious interview. Ruby Wax is a comedian. Madonna is in with it and knew about Ruby. Those taking offence need to get a grip

Thanks so much for reacting to this performance. Like you, I got up out of my chair and started dancing! Aphrodite, the whole concert was mesmerising, but when she performed this song it blew me away! I was not expecting that performance and her voice was absolutely incredible! Yes, I agree, an opportunity missed. But what she like Madonna are facing is ageist radio. They do not play their songs! Its such a shame. Kylie is still bringing out absolute bangers of songs and she has to rely on TikTok to get traction. Very shamefull of the radio stations. Anyways, she never complains and just gets on with it and keeps her loyal fans happy! ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Ruby Wax was big in Australia at this time too, and also well known as a comedy writer for the beyond iconic Absolutely Fabulous. You’re absolutely right her brand is to be brash and uncouth, and break through the facade of fame in her interviews. Inevitably that also meant she reflected some of the internalised issues of the time, but I still think it results in an interesting window into a less safe, less in control Madonna… despite her vigorous efforts to maintain control.

My impression from this interview was always that Ruby was giddy and experiencing a headiness having to do with Madonna's uber fame and the excitement around the juggernaut that was Madonna's power and the general public's image of Madonna. Her fame was like a drug to some people; i think it must have made Madonna feel isolation when most everybody were willing to misunderstand her buy into her publicity and the illusion of Madonna. It was as if Ruby Wax must have mistaken Madonna in that room for someone else. She was always just an ordinary person that people didn't really seem to know after she became famous on top of famous on top of famous.

Ruby actually agrees with you that she was too aggressive, as Madonna in the beginning seemed to like her despite the numerous chin question and being told on camera numerous times to relax and talk about her age/ looks lol She lost her eventually and Madonna didnt really finish the interview. I don't think she hated her, she actually laughed when she walked back in and Ruby was mocking her but needless to say, Ruby never got a second interview with her lol Loads of Madonna fans love this interview though as it was such a hot mess. Ruby still talks about it today, must have really traumatized her lol

hahaha when Ruby said she had the bum of a black girl, Empress was like ''Really?'' For some reason, that made me laugh out loud. Such effortless shade. White women always look a fool when they say that and a black girl reacts like that. I adore you hahaha. Also right next then ''Did you see my Video?'' ''I haven't'' Isnt that the job of an interviewer in preparation? She'd rather talk about chins and plummers, it seems than prepare and talk about music.

About London, i think back in the 90s, The UK and particularly London had a tabloid scene that was the most extreme worldwide, bith as far as Paparazzi went and as far as making stuff up and writing completely nasty articles about celebs. People from elsewhere including the US, were usually shocked they could get away with it and said this would never be printed elsewhere. It was also the UK that as far back as 1993, lets remember she had just turned 35 at the time and started her sold out Stadium Girlie Show tour in London released an article by someone called Piers Morgan with the headline that said ''Put It Away Grandma'' as a concert review of a 35 year old woman. I do not blame Madonna for not being a fan of the tabloid culture. Also she predicted the future as there was a phone hacking scandal involving some Uk tabloids and many celebs, so either it was going on as far back as the 90s and she just had a feeling about it or she really predicted the future. Either way, she was not paranoid but rather speaking facts.

Ruby Wax is a comic genius. She interviewed all A list stars for a show she did in England. The Bill Cosby and Trump interviews are totally messed up. The Burt Reynolds interview is the funniest. The Sandra Bernhard interview is BRUTAL, she made Sandra cry. Ruby wrote all the jokes for the first three seasons of Absolutely Fabulous. This was a mess. I don’t know if she was just nervous or what, but Madonna was actually trying to answer her questions seriously, but Ruby kept going on about chins and plumbers it’s like quit beating a dead horse the joke wasn’t funny to begin with. Also, she was so rude groping her all the time and then rummaging in her luggage and putting on her clothes? She looked a damn fool. And then she tried to blame Madonna for controlling things… she had to control the interview because you were out of control.

Oh boy, this is notorious. Ruby thought it was her second worst interview after her Donald Trump one. She admitted she was extremely nervous and intimidated and therefor became overtly aggressive. Madonna handled her well for the most part and was actually funny and candid for the most. Ruby finally lost her when she rubbed her coat in Madonnas full one make up lipstick face. I cannot believe she did that and got away with it because even without make up, if stranger did this to me...well, i wouldnt ignore it like Madonna did, lets put it this way lol but eventually she walked out lol Ruby really lost it when she got to Madonna's bag. No idea why she was that nervous and aggressive but Madonna seems to have this charisma that makes grown people act like fools. We have seen it before, we will see it again. Speaking of which, there is a backstage interview with Elton John at the Brits 1995 where she performed Bedtime Stories, he is acting a giddy idiot the whole time around her while she is chill. Maybe you wanna react to it, too, given their complicated history and his obsession with her ;)

The British press was notorious back then for wire tapping and underhanded tricks. They would even go after the children of celebrities or the royal family. There was no limit as to how low they’d go. A lot of regulations are now in place to protect people from the worst of the British media.

thank you for this video with your reaction and comments "Super trouper" (1980) was the nine and last single #1 to ABBA in UK (and it was the #1 at the day than John Lennon was murder) It's the opening track in Their seventh album "Super Trouper" , that was #1 too in UK and several countries of all continents This album included the most heartbroken song "The winner takes it all" , it shows how versatily ABBA is "Super Trouper" is the same year, and the following single, than "The winner takes it all" and both was #1 in UK specialy Two songs different in style and lyrics and lead singer, and worldwide hit too in "Súper Trouper" you can hear clear the brunette Frida amazing as a lead singer, and the blonde Agnetha fantastic in second voice, and a beautiful melody with power and catchy chorus These is a live perfomance in 1981 ABBA play nine songs in these TV special In the same ABBA performing a beautiful and emotional song : "Slipping through my fingers" That's could be your next reaction (the lyric is about parents, specialy for your daughter) I hope to see you in next ABBA vídeo My best regards to you from Buenos Aires Argentina South America

Yah! Glad you loved this live performance of Super Trouper. 🔟🔟🔟 Yup, the vocals are fire. 🔥 It's almost exactly like the album version, but Frida adds a few little inflections to the end of some of the lines and it just shows how strong she is vocally. The boys add some background as well, which adds a bit of depth beyond what Agnetha, Frida and the female background singers are doing. Not all of their songs work well live because of the complexity of the arrangements, but I think this one sounds really close to the original. I can't recall a sample of this song being used. ABBA is very resistant to anyone using their music. Madonna had to practically beg to get them to agree to use Gimmie, Gimmie, Gimmie for Hung Up. 🪩 Glad to help set up Baby's Em's musical education. Between you and all of the Empressionists, she's going to have all of rock history in her memory by age 3. 🤣
