Great review! I have had one for about 6 months now and I love it, like you said, great trigger for a snubbie revolver right out of the box. I also purchased some wadcutters and yes it does make a huge difference when shooting multiple rounds at the range. It's a joy to carry, very comfortable. Thank you for the info on how to change the grips, I was trying to figure that out and could not find any other info on how to do it from other reviews on KZbin. I live in the southeast and I work from home so 90% of the time I'm wearing cargo shorts and a t-shirt so I mainly carry it in a Mika pocket holster. I have other IWB holsters for other snubbies that I own that work with this revolver as well when I do carry IWB.
@MDpolo6 ай бұрын
I haven’t tried a pocket holster but I’m sure it disappears on you just like and IWB. Thank you very much for your kind words and for taking the time to stop by. I appreciate it!

I chose the K6xs over the S&W Lipsey. I like you can easily stage the trigger with the Kimber, less snag points and one additional round. I also carry a S&W 340pd at times.
@maxfit689066 ай бұрын
Same. The 642 from Lipsey’s is overpriced and overrated.

Nice review. Keep us updated re. reliability and durability. There have been complaints about broken firing pins on this and the steel KDs models, both with the original titanium firing pins as well as the supposed upgraded steel ones.

I sure will. So far zero issues. Love it. Thank you so much for stopping by.

Nice! I was wondering is this is excellent for ankle carry. Also, are there laser grips for this? There are laser grips for the K6s and I’m wondering if those will work for this K6xs?

I really like mine. Before you buy, take a good look at how the side plate fits and the cylinder lockup. A few slipped through qc a little sloppier than they should have. Waiting on my lok grips to show up (I mentioned your recommendation) and I even use the same ammo. Still looking for holsters, I carry my revolvers owb. And another great review. Thanks for putting out some good stuff, always enjoy your videos.
@MDpolo6 ай бұрын
Thank you for the information on the cylinder lock up. Have you tried one of Harry’s Holsters? For me, it made the revolver disappear and completely forgot it was there. Thank you very much for your kind words and for taking the time to stop by.

alot of people carry the wrong ammo in these light guns making other people say this is not a beginner's gun. but they are wrong. you just have to carry the right ammo in it. those wadcutters you have are very good. and Paul Harrel ( RIP we miss you Paul) had a very good video that showed they did just as much damage to his meat targets as the more expensive +P ammo he put them up against. and he was using Federal wadcutters ( and they even expanded a little). I have been using wadcutters for about 25 years now in my light guns. also for home protection. they penetrate deep but not over penetrate. and if you have things up against the walls in your house they won't go though them and the wall into the room where the people you are trying to protect are.

Very nice review! I have a Smith old school snubby, but I like the look and ease to conceal this Kimber. I will be making this purchase. And the tip on Georgia Arms is a nice bonus.

I carry the K6xs. It's a great edc pistol. But you have to obviously like a revolver. I do, but many I shoot with do not.

Cheers and many thanks for your outstanding presentation. Have been looking for wascutter low velocity ammo and appreciate the lead to Georgia Arms. Lucky Gunner on youtube also sells that ammo and Buffalo Bore offers it with a reversed hollow base head, like a banned British Webley Manstopper Bullet of the 19th century. The Slim Cowboy channel initially praised this revolver in a couple of videos but concluded by returning it to the manufactuer for a beef that I noticed on mine and yours too at 20:00. The side plate at the top and inside the frame window has a visible gap of a couple of 000's inch. Like you I'm pleased in every way with this gun and am reluctant to get involved nit picking back and forth with Customer Service but am confident after viewing you fire all those +P Remingtons that the imperfection should be ok and is not necessarily out of spec defective. As a senior shooter owning old classic Colts and S&Ws to compare K6XS to, those guns have a flawless fit so tight that non gun folks would be fooled into not realizing there is a side plate in construction at all. I intend to shoot mine and place it in carry rotation with the S&W Model 642 (holy grail standard) and 637. One last tip to share. OEM politically correct genuflecting to the snow flakes of California and Massachuetts is that firing pins are "drop safe" by being shorter than renders 101% ignition reliability. According to some posted comments Kimber had some pin breakage issues. Dry fire with snap caps (spring loaded and polymer primer types) and range time should verify these matters before street carry. I bought a TK Custom firing pin to keep ready if needed while burning gunpowder to break my gun in. Looking forward to that process.

I have about 150 rounds through my K6xs and it is a good shooter . I’ve been able to get good hits out to about 15 yards. I changed the grip to g10 Hogue piranha . I like the those LoK grips they look like they are a little wider . Thanks

Excellent review! I think it's great you're getting into revolvers. I'm really thinking about doing some trade for one of these. I have two of he original DAO kimber revolvers currently. The k6s Royal blue and the k6s with tritium night sights from the factory.

I don’t think it would be disappointed. A very good offering from Kimber. Specially shooting those Georgia Arms wadcutters. It made a huge difference. Harry’s Holsters makes it disappear and forget that you have it all day. Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to stop by.

actually that is not chrome it is stainless steel. and I do like the 2 tone look. and that is only seen under certain lighting conditions . and I would like it if it was that way under all lighting conditions with those grips and other parts of the gun.
