I was thrilled when I finally got my hands on one last October. I only had about 150 live fire rounds through it, mostly standard pressure, when one day, after doing some dry fire practicing with it, I went to eject the snap caps and the entire cylinder slid down the ejector rod. It would have come completely off if not for the grip preventing it from doing so. I sent it back to Kimber. Three days after they received it they called me and said there was a crack in the frame and they were going to replace the frame. After 3 more weeks I contacted them by email for an update and they said there were some other issues found (they did not specify what the other problems were) and they would be sending me a brand new gun but it might take a couple of weeks before they would ship it, that was last week. I'm very disappointed, I love the way it shoots, great grip and sights, easy to conceal and carry (especially in the pocket) and best of all it's 6 shots and the 6-shots was what made me chose this over a Smith & Wesson J-frame or Ruger LCR.

That is disappointing to hear I hope I don’t have a similar experience but will be doing some follow vids to see. So far I only have about 50 rounds through it. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already and let us know how it goes with the new one

Without seeing your revolver but making an educated guess (I'm not a gunsmith, just an old guy who has had a lot of revolvers and examined many more of other folks) there is a small stud that probably broke off on the left side located at the "Troy AL USA" in the bottom right corner 5 o'clock of the frame window. Look at 2:20 in G Square's video. This feature as part of a system is found on almost all revolvers with swing out cylinders and retains the cylinder from falling out when swung open as you experienced. I once acquired a used S&W J frame revolver from an estate sale with that stud broken off and sent it to a master gunsmith who silver soldiered on a replacement wth other work. I have a rare low production Colt Magnum Carry that is the only gun I've ever encountered without the stud, since the opened cylinder is a few of thousands of an inch inside the frame window making it unnecessary. Bruce at Kimber at Customer Service is a good associate there to speak to and also this issue should be posted to the Kimber revolver forum online. I'm fond of my K6XS also and bought it to edc rotate with a S&W 637 and 642. Wish you well for a good outcome.

One of my favorite revolvers and my daily carry! Great revolver. I've shot close to 1k rounds through mine and it's held up great. Best product kimber makes and at the current price point it's a solid value. Sights, trigger, and weight are great for the price point.

I'm still rocking my LCR which I love. I don't care about the extra round the K6XS offers, five should get the job done in the highly unlikely event that I would ever need to use the gun.

Got my k6xs and have had nothing but issues even after two months of trying to resolve and having a new gun sent out to me. I will hold my opinion until final resolution. The issues with lock ups and failure for trigger to correctly catch the double action sear during dry fire has plagued both guns. I believe there is some tolerance or q/c issue with the assembly of this gun, it is impossible for two guns to present with the same issue. I am not short stroking, and the original gun had a very rough trigger break/sear issue, and when they took it back and fixed that issue, the other issue presented. When they sent a replacement gun the same issue appeared when dry firing. The gun shot fine, and the gun never failed on the range. I would appreciate any feedback on this. Reddit had others report the issue. I have own and have carried J frames for 45 years.

Unfortunately, I have not owned any other Kimber revolvers and other than a colt revolver having a burr on the arm, not allowing the cylinder to rotate. I’ve never really had many issues at all with revolvers, especially with timing or lock up. And this is the only Kimber revolver I have ever owned and happily can say I have not experienced these issues. It was a pure pleasure to shoot at the range, managed recoil exceedingly well and was extremely accurate. I felt no grit in the trigger or any noticeable trigger issues at all, certainly no issues with timing or lock up. Let me know what you find out about this and the resolution. Thanks for watching and for sharing your experience and be sure to subscribe if you have not already.

I use HKS spd loaders for the S&W K frame and Colt D frame. The OEM one you refer to is several times more expensive than the others. Speed strips work with everything all the time.
