Great to see an SA gun channel - voorspoed manne! So far I've done the eliminations and CZ P10 series remains standing rock solid. Too much spending to bring the Glock up to the same convenience. Canik just missed the boat with the reliability reports on the MC9.

I was gonna buy a glock, i bought a CZ P10c and 1000 rounds instead, same price. Ive got about 9000 rounds through my CZ, carry it every day, never a hassle. Im interested in a P07, i shoot a double/single in competition and i prefer it, makes me feel a bit safer hammer down with a round in the chamber although i know the strikers are perfectly safe. Very interested in the Canniks as well, they seem really good.

Just a very important point . You Do NOT buy a firearm just so you can store it in a safe. You buy a firearm to use it. When you neglect training , you might as well not own a firearm to begin with. So many people miss the fact that training is extremely important. Don't be caught with your pants down when it comes to that.
@imran15cassim12 күн бұрын
It is important to get the training however carrying a firearm is a very tricky thing as we carry for self defense but human nature kicks in and people do get negligent in terms of leaving the firearm in the car and it gets missing or when people get into petty arguments and road rages where firearms are drawn and regrets thereafter, so i do go for training and i keep my firearm in the safe for home defence.

Hello RSA gun owners! I am in the USA, in Florida. You all are correct in that the laws are different here, however the gun laws in Florida are a LOT more gun friendly than say in the state of New York. Now I do not know if innthe RSA your laws are different say between Transvaal an the Orange Free State as an example. I do know that your gun laws are very restrictive, not to say oppresive almost. That being said, you guys in the RSA cannot go to a gun store and pick up a Glock, an AK, or AR 15 or any other gun you fancy so long as you have the money and you can take it home the same day or wait 5 days if you do not have a carry permit, if you do go take it home the same day once they do the instant background check. Now those 3 brands are good reliable pistols. The Glock has been for over 40 years in the market and its the most expensive of the 3 at about USD $575-600. The next one up is the CZ. Here the CZ P10 C is a popular model for about USD $300 to $375. I find the CZ more ergonomic, the magazine ejects and free falls in a way the Glock does not, and the trigger, to me at least, is better with a good reset. Also metal gunsights better than the Austrian. Basically the CZ P10C is a modernized Glock and it even fits in many Glock holsters. It is about 2 oz heavier though. Last but not least, is the Caniks. They all have EXCELLENT TRIGGERS! OUT OF THE BOX! They come well equipped with a plastic or polymer holster, extra magazines, cleaning rod, brushes. At least that is how they are sold here. Their standard models are on the USD$275- $350 range making them a great value. Theyare reliable too!. If I was in the RSA myself any one of them would work, so what I would look at is cost and availabilty of magazines and parts. If you guys have the ability to rent guns at the range and test fire them, that would be great. That way you can evaluate which is the better gun if all else is equal. If I had to make ONE choice, I would split it down the middle and go with a CZ P 10 C. It is a modernized Glock, just as reliable even if it does not have 40 plus years in the market, but only 7 or 8. CZ has been around for about 100 years or so and they have a great track record. Again, it will all depend on your local conditions, but in terms of quality and reliabilty, those 3 guns will serve you well in the Veld, or the cities.

We need to do a competency course first, open book test of gun laws and handling of a firearm. Then a closed book test of gun laws and handling of a firearm 2 separate tests of which you have 1 hour to complete and you must score 80% pass on both tests. Then you go on a Saturday and complete a shooting competency test teaching you how to load hold and fire. Then shooting around 40 rounds at 9.8feet then 16.5feet then 23feet into center mass minimum of 10 rounds in the circle. They add 2 rounds that cause a failure to go into battery which you must correct. Once you pass that you receive competency certificates for both test and shooting. Then you make copies of certificates copies of ID two passport photo and proof of residency. Fill out forms with ten questions asking have you ever committed serious crimes etc, then as a first time gun owner you need 3 references to each fill in one form with all their details id address contact number then about 10 questions asking how long they know you,have you the new gun owner ever been treated for depression do they know if you've ever been convicted of any crimes etc. The 3 references must be a family member, a friend a work college or a neighbor. Once that is complete you take all that paperwork to the local Police station pay $4.50 and they capture all the info onto their system. 2 weeks later you receive a progress reference number text from the Police which you can track on-line. After a month it goes to Criminal Records Department where they check your criminal history. After another month they will phone each of your references and conduct a interview telephonically. This process takes 3 months minimum. If that goes smooth they then find you competent to posses a firearm. After that😂 you then purchase your firearm of your choice, depending on which course you done i.e. just a firearm or the other course of which a firearm, a shot gun a rifle and semi automatic will have been in the tests mentioned above. So you purchase your firearm which you must leave at the gun shop. You get the serial numbers for the firearm you purchased fill in more forms at the Police now with the make and serial numbers etc which also takes +- 2.5 to 3 months to process. After that they then issue you with a firearm license for that specific firearm and it's serial numbers. You then take your license to the gun shop fill in a couple more forms at the gun shop and in a week you can collect.🎉😂
@stevenswanepoel3525TNN14 күн бұрын
Oh forgot to mention, once you are found competent by the police after their 3 month check, you need to send pictures of your safe in a cupboard with very secure bolts, the bolts must be in the picture too

Ok folks, i was in the industry as well and i had one simple piece of advice for ANY first time pistol buyer. Pick up the pistol and AIM at a spot on the wall, if you line up the sights quickly and naturally, point the gun where you are looking not looking where you are pointing the gun then that gun FITS your natural stance. You can LEARN to shoot any firearm but for a first time owner a natural pointing gun is the best bet for a self defense gun.

Cz p10. For 399 dollars in USA, we can get metal sights and metal magazine gun with better grip angle than Glock 19 that costs 150 dollars more. Theres no way in hell the Canik gun will last as long as the CZ p10c. The barrel of the CZ p10c is extremely robust and cold hammer forged.

The problem in the US is that you DONT need special permission to carry concealed; but it is enforced as if you do. Same thing with silencers and machine guns. All inherently legal, since the ratification of 1791. When have words on paper done anything to stop government, except when its convenient?

I doubt if you can purchase a CZ PO7, as shown , for under 15k these days , the CZ P10c is around the same price - there is a distinct feeling of safety when carrying a hammer fired weapon with a round in the chamber as compared to a striker fired pistol

I love it, but I love all Firearms, Baretta is such a legendary brand and you can never go wrong with them. We have a great supleier in South Africa that looks after their brand and it's customers. The APX is very well priced and you get a lot off value for money. The only thing to do now is to make sure it fits your purpose
@Zet85ecАй бұрын
I own an APX Centurion and it's a great firearm. For the price you get a lot of firearm. The ergonomics are on point, the trigger is on par with the best striker fired handguns. It also functions well with all the ammo I've fed it. The only minor drawback compared to other similar handguns is the thickness if the slide and the limitation in terms of putting a red dot on it. However, I've seen one with a Holosun 407k on that was done by MRS Technique. I'm happy with it as my section 13 handgun. With that said, I'm looking at the Canik SFX Rival MOS with a red dot mount as my section 16.

Watching from the US. Wrong to say in America you need special permission to conceal carry. It varies from state to state. In some, yes you need a license, but others have constitutional carry laws so it's your right to carry, it's not a privilege

I have 3 9mmP pistols. An old Luger M80, a Glock 17 Gen3 and a CZ Shadow 2. All for sport shooting, so concealment is not a criteria. Of the 3, though, the Glock is my LEAST favourite, purely because it's the only one that regularly gives me feeding issues. Rounds that chamber and fire readily in the other 2 don't feed properly and jam the Glock - such that a screwdriver is required to fix it. Not as "reliable" for me as the world would have us believe!
