Such a great episode of the magnificent Kimberley. How epic is Tunnel Creek ! I love Windjana Gorge, I could see that there is still some damage from the floods last year when it was closed :(. That scenic flight was stunning, showed me some things I’ve never seen before ❤❤. Thanks 😊
@empty_nestadventures3 ай бұрын
@@robyndehavilland1609 yes, definitely a different Windjana to our last trip in ‘22. That chopper flight was one of the best experiences we’ve ever had. Not really been much tourism operation in that area for a long time. The guys at Mt Hart have done a great job

This video was a treat to watch, so much beauty, your music choice was fab in the caves. Loving the classy places you continue to find along your travels. Mount Hart looks worth the drive, very pretty as you said, I hope people support the new owner, and the chopper pilots out there. I’ve been binge watching your Chanel, so much great content which is very informative and entertaining, will all come handy in the not to distant future. Cheers 🥂

Your mt Hart comments are spot on.. some of our favourite places on the Gibb were places we were told weren't worth visiting. If you have time..go everywhere. Especially Mornington. Owned by Australian Wildlife Conservancy... it's like entering Durasick park.

@@briangill4000 Cheers and thanks for the hot tip on Mornington, we’ll add this to our list of places to see 👍

Mornington is a long detour off the Gibb.,down towards Fitzroy Crossing on the Fitzroy River. A couple of decades ago there was talk of damming the Fitzroy river. The Conservancy bought Mornington so it can be preserved. It has been destocked and put back to nature.

What a great adventure and thanks for taking us along on the helicopter flight. Have you still got the standard 76L fuel tank in the BT50 and how many jerries do you carry.
@empty_nestadventures3 ай бұрын
@@robertarmbruster5650 hi mate. We have the 133L ‘indestructible’ ARB long range tank, that got a hole in it 2 years ago when doing the Gibb… lucky I’m handy, but ARB were great in replacing it as soon as we got to Darwin. I do carry a 20L metal jerry, but didn’t need it on this whole west coast trip

Hi guys, enjoying the videos of your trip. A quick question. Is the Smartcap keeping out the dirt and water? We are in the process of getting one fitted and interested in how yours is fairing.
@empty_nestadventures3 ай бұрын
@@snowy941 short answer is yes. Long answer is the positive pressure vent on top does a great job- no rain in, and does definitely stop dust ingress. I had to install a tailgate dust seal however, as even though the post pressure works, it didn’t keep dust out, just around the rear of the tailgate. Once that was done, everything was like a solid back car. I’ve also got $10K of 12V gear in the tub and also did several water crossings, deepest was about 900mm into ELQ gorge and not a drop of water in there
@snowy9413 ай бұрын
@@empty_nestadventures Thanks, appreciate you taking the time to respond. Great to hear the Smartcap is working out well. Yes, a tailgate seal is what I also had in mind to seal the tub. Safe travels.

@@alisonphilp7497 this van has no modifications except for the BBQ arm! Jawa really focus on making a van that is ready for pretty much anything. My main motto with travelling to areas like this is to have plenty of spares and repair gear with you. I carry spare air/fuel/oil filters, spare alternator and starter motor, windscreen and tyre repair kits, heap of electrical components and tools to do jobs. I got a hole in my fuel tank last trip on the Gibb in 2022, but had all the gear to first plug it and then patch it to get us to Darwin for repair….
