I actually find teleport is better to use inside combos than in neutral. It’s a great way to mix up someone mashing jab to find the gaps in your block strings. Then you can easily get a counter hit or a grab if they’re still blocking. Slide is more powerful in neutral the less you use it. Got a ton of cheap wins yolo sliding to close a match cause I never used it once the entire time outside combos.

the big gap in this game is less top tiers and more 'really good (in tournament) characters' vs 'not so good (in tournament) characters' but all the results show the gulf isn't so huge, especially when fewer people are playing those characters. more than anyone else I think Manon sticks out bc she is quite popular and has several elite players maining her but no results

Eh, poor word choice by that person. On its own, Kim's st. MK is long. But her hurtbox overlaps completely with the hitbox, so it makes it feel stubby. There's no range where it will beat things clean, while other characters' similar normals have less overlap. For example, Marisa's st. MK's hitbox extends beyond her hurtbox, meaning there is a range where it will stuff other normals without trading.

I've merely started learning Kim myself. What I'm understanding so far is that her c.HP is a really good AA button. If they jump all the time, focus on using that button. I'm not 100% sure but either run or DR right after nailing the c.HP will net you a right/left mixup. Again, only just picked her up.

honest to god, medium tatsu and our 2HP are a couple of the best anti-airs in the game. in corner, if you can’t oppress them just walk back to where they would land on forward jump, easy to react to anything there bc you’re waiting for them to act

"just do 5MK into run" feels like a knowledge check a lot of the time. It can easily be stopped with mashing and frame trapping from 5MK requires such a huge risk like slide or elbow, or resources like DR (and even then my jab usually doesnt come out). There might be some other counterplay that i dont know about though but many kimberlys I play against just spam 5MK > run and dont have a counter-play for mashing

If your opponent mashes a 4 frame move after 5mk you can do 2mp or 5mp as a spacing trap OR do drive rush, 5hp or 2hp as a frame trap

From neutral? Drive rush. She doesn't have any safe block strings to special. For example, if I by accident hit her mp,hp target combo on block, I cancel into drive rush to make it safe. All of her specials are dangerous on block. There is def times where you wanna be random or gamble but a lot of kims don't know how to play neutral, and devolve into constant run and smoke gimmicks. Which will just get you blown up at higher ranks. Get your confirms and setups down and she becomes a mixup monster

Street fighter is way more mainstream and has way more casual players than gg. If u play gg ur more likely to be in it for the long haul and trying to imrpove, whereas a bunch of people pick up street fighter and get hit with some bullshit and go "fuck this game imma go play madden"

I disagree with not using her runs or spray teleport in neutral, Even tho she got good long range buttons she's not just a footisie character, good players use her risky moves to surprise the opponent in order to get 100% of her potencial. If you watch any high level Kimberly you'll see them using these moves quite a lot.
