Well, that's highly debatable, to say the least. There's clearly more than one reason why she uses all that 'stuff'. I think she would be the first to say that some of those synths and vocal processors are absolutely necessary to her. She needs them to compose and to add some weird/inspiring textures to her songs. I thought this was obvious to everyone, but apparently it isn't. She even says it herself in the video!
