I would like to see her act. I’ll bet she would also be a talented director. Her music, for me, is hit and miss. I just feel a confused vibe coming from her. I think maybe she would be happier acting, with music as a hobby, a thing she does on the side. This is only a guess.

I figured out what I like about Kimbra. She doesn't fit into a specific style. She uses an array of vocal techniques and sounds and tinkers with a bunch of different styles of song, yet somehow it's all still very much her. So many groups, even groups I like, have such an entrenched sound their sounds get a little... interchangeable. But Kimbra keeps me guessing. I don't always enjoy every song she does, but that's how things go when you experiment. I just like that she doesn't find a formula and lather, rinse, repeat her way through an album or two.

This is ingenious music. The intro does this thing from Bb to Db, then the main verse is in Eb minor. then the pre-chorus goes to this F-Bb riff similar to the intro; like it wants to resolve back to Eb... but then it abruptly changes to F# minor! Both unexpected and jarring because you're expecting a resolve that doesn't happen but it's also changing key upwards. It also fits with the lyrics/them of the song (of craziness/high intensity) Singing over lots of key changes isn't easy either. I wish more modern pop music was more daring like this. Beach Boys and Beatles used to do it all the time but since modern music began taking a turn for the worse a couple of decades ago this became unheard of. Maybe it's making a comeback!
