You didn't insert the film leader into the take-up spool. On your second wind, the rewind crank doesn't turn, which means the film is not being taken up by the take-up spool.

@alinakravchenya11286 жыл бұрын
Frida Ee I have the same camera as well but for me to rewind the film the shutter button has to be up and the metal ring at the base of the shutter button has to be pressed down which loosens the sprocket and allows the film to be rewound. I think that’s what you were commenting on. If not, disregard this msg. 😬

@@alinakravchenya1128 you're right. Every Zenit camera rewound film as you discribe. I own Zenit since 1985 and I know what I write. The button which KimGarza show as button to release the film is button which activate mechanical timer shutter. First you must rotate little lever from up to downside and then when you pressed that button lever go up and after aprox. 7 sec activate the shutter. At some Zenit camera metal ring at the base of shutter go down when you at the end of film but not always.

Please can u tell me if i need a darkroom to develop the film. (ps. i am still a noob)
@wibbley14 жыл бұрын
Hi, no you do not need a darkroom to develop film. You will need a 'changing bag' which is a lightproof bag with arm holes. You put the film and developing tank in the bag, zip it closed, put your arms in the arm holes. Now working by feel alone, you open the film can and wind it onto the spool in the developing tank. Put the spool in the tank and put the lid on. Now remove the tank with film safely inside from the bag. All this takes great practice. The tank has a lightproof top, which allows you to pour in and out the developing chemicals, but does not allow light to enter, so you can now develop the film in daylight.

Hi! I wanted to thank you so much on your videos on ET, I am supposed to be getting it any day now and I extremely excited about it! I have a question about the light meter, as you talk about aligning the circle with the line, what exactly do you mean by that? I might not be able to properly see what’s going on and that’s why I’m unclear on what exactly is being aligned with that. Thank you in advance! :)
@KimGarza5 жыл бұрын
isssme hi! Thanks for your message :) that means the alignment for a correct exposure, I’m not completely sure, but according my experience with these lightmeters, the circle indicates your camera settings (iso, aperture, speed) and then the line measures the quantity if light that you receiving, so the alignment is, that you need to reach the line, to have correct setting for a perfect exposure (depends also of the lightmeters, some don’t have the circle, but what I am saying corresponds to the Zenit ET lightmeter). I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other question :)

Hi, when winding the film with the winding lever on the right, always watch the rewind lever on the left, it should also turn. You now know the film has caught in the right hand spool and is moving correctly as you wind on after each photograph. Similarly, when coming to the end of the roll, it is easy to miss the extra tension on the wind lever and tear the sprocket holes in the film. This does no harm, but by watching the rewind lever and seeing it is not turning when advancing the film using the winding lever, you know the film is finished and you must rewind it back into the original film canister before opening the back. I have many Zenit cameras, B, E, EM, ET, 11, TTL, 12XP. Best ones if you prefer an external light meter are ET and 11. If you prefer through the lens metering, 12XP or 122. Avoid the TTL as this requires a mercury battery which is no longer available.
